It was a regular day for farming and living and whatever people wanna do - clouds had built over the last few days, but other then a slight bit of rain, things were normal.

Until now.

It began with rain. Just regular rain. Until the rain seemed to shudder and become soft ice. It looked like a mix of rain and snow - and glimmered like diamonds. It wasn't cold, it was just... beautiful. What a strange event...

That is, until a few hours passed. The diamond dust falling from the sky wasn't too weird. Even if it was nearing the end of Summer, it was quite nice. What began next, though? It was even weirder.

Diamonds and other gems had begun to fall from the sky, though they seemed to impact people just like rain. Not painful at all. They were real, at that! Whatever was causing this, it was... well, weird. It wasn't just the people and the outsiders curious about this - Pokemon from the forests and beyond seemed to be coming out into the town. Oddly, they were mostly Zubat and Bidoof... but there's a lot of other Pokemon, curious about the gems! Some of them are even eating them. Please stop.

...though, people not distracted by the Pokemon might notice small apple-like rat creatures. Some of them even seem to be falling from the sky with some squeaking. 

The next day, things will be back to normal - any items not picked up will vanish, just as they appeared.

[ Sheena's checking on her crops when it begins raining, making her job that much easier today. So, while the plants are enjoying a nice drink, the ninja's taking advantage of the softer ground to pull more logs out of the ground and towards her pile of firewood for chopping later.

B] They Run and Hide Their Heads... OTA

[ Missed her working? Well then, you can catch her on her porch, looking at the sky in confusion, then curiosity, when something solid lands at her feet. Bending down, she picks it up and examines it closely. ]

Is this a...diamond?

[ Sure looks like it. And the greens, blues, and reds of other gems start covering her farm--including her crops. Letting out a very loud "DAMN", the ninja makes a mad dash for a sack so she can get the gems off her crops and into the bag.

Right now, plants > what may not be gems, since she knows that sometimes, not everything is what it appears to be. Spotting someone passing by, she calls out to them. ]

[ This is some kind of crazy rain, and Sasuke isn't sure what exactly to make of it. His thoughts are interrupted when someone calls out to him. ]

That depends entirely on what kind of hand you need.

[ Sasuke isn't a farmer. His farm's still an untamed forest, and the only things that have been planted are the wild seeds that spring up on their own.

He still comes over, however. ]

1. That's not how you evolve your ninja!

[ Rain is no big deal for a ninja. It makes Sasuke's daily activities a little uncomfortable, and he'll have to be more careful about climbing trees. However, it won't keep him indoors. He's out for a walk, minding his own business when a Fire Stone beans him in the head, causing him to stumble and let out a curse. Then the rest of the gems start falling around him.

Sasuke rubs the back of his head, already feeling the lump starting to form. Well isn't that just great. It's as if the gods aren't happy with his progress and are trying to clue him in with a little more force. Or maybe it's just his luck being especially bad today. He doesn't even know what the hell it is, but he picks up the offending stone anyways to turn it over in his hands. ]

2. Please don't tell him he's the only one seeing things

[ The gems falling from the sky aren't the only things strange about today. Those strange animals Sasuke occasionally comes across are very active. And loud. The screams from the bat looking ones especially makes Sasuke's already throbbing head hurt a little more.

And it is in that state of mind that Sasuke sees the round, squeaking forest spirit. He's not sure why or how, but he feels like it's different than the other strange creatures. With a chirp, the forest spirit disappears. ]

... Was there a moving apple over there a moment ago?

[ It was there, right? Sasuke rubs at the lump hidden by his wild hair. Maybe he needs to tend to his head injury.... ]

[Hi, don't mind Saeko peering at the stone with a bit of a puzzled look on her face. It only vaguely looks like any firestone she's ever seen. No pokemon out with her, but there are two pokeballs and a greatball at her waist, each about the size of a baseball.]

[While the diamond dust itself is weird, she could always pinpoint this to strange weather phenomena from this place. But the gems? Well. The actual gems seem a little too much.

While she was headed over to the town for some groceries, she stops in her way, crouches to pick one up - blue, perhaps a sapphire - and stands up to study it.] It can't be too bad. This is a good color.

2. Today is the day, bewilderness Comes to reclaim everything

[Just because she's not at work doesn't mean she's slacking on training. Laying down on a tarp in the middle of a field, sniper rifle set up in front of her, Ana is doing target practice at a bunch of cans on a fence miles away.

So A. Maybe you find her there (though a heads up that she's careful enough to know that there's a very little chance you'll get in the crossfire) and try not to bother her while she shoots the cans one by one - there are a lot of them.

Or B you find her looking slightly irritated? pitiful? curiously? confused? at the middle distance, not shooting.

The culprit?

This guy, walking across her line of fire.

And then forgetting what it was doing, looking around, then going the opposite way...

And then forgetting it again and heading back to its original direction.

This keeps going on and on and Ana just. Decides to lean her cheek on her wrist. There's something to be said about a sniper's patience, but this ...]

[UGH, RAIN!! Summer heat was bad enough, but feeling cold and slimy was way worse! Hence, Zack's stuck taking shelter under a tree and taking a nap for some time to wait it out. Though, when he does wake up? It's to the sound of squeaking...and apples! Diamonds and gems? Psh, those are for normies.

Feeling hungry enough, he picks up a green apple (gosh, it's kind of warm and jiggly for some reason) and opens his mouth, about to go in for a bite.

...said "apple" is squeaking loudly and terrified, which he doesn't notice. Someone save it, please.]

[Later in the day, Zack is swinging his scythe everywhere and trying hard to keep some of the weird critters away that are either in his way or kinda flocking to him. There's even a pink bipedal sheep rubbing against him affectionately, aww.]

These things wouldn't normally fall from the sky on their own would they? Surely, they must belong to someone. She stops focusing on the mushrooms as such and calls out for help.]

[Despite he has no problems with working at the mines to gather some gems to make some jewelry for his dream store, Ryder wishes that gems may rain down whenever he feels a bit stressful.

Though, he starts to regret his stress-induced wish as he sees diamonds raining down from the sky. What's even more problematic is that it's starting to pelt onto his farmhouse's roof.

If you're passing by, you may see the poor young boy trying to catch as many diamonds as he can to protect his home.]

She's sitting on a bench not too far from where she was watching the diamond dust, resting for now, and under the cover of the nearby shop to keep any of the falling creatures from hitting her directly. She has a Rotom zipping around her head excitedly, bzzting and chattering and making her laugh, and a Porygon buzzing softly on the bench beside her. She'd been wary at first, but they were both acting so gentle and kind she couldn't help but be charmed...]

It tends to happen when water freezes in the air, but... it's the middle of summer. How curious...

Maybe for Angel, too...

[After she's decided she's done with gem gathering, Tori's making her way home with a decently sized bag in one of her hands. On her way, she spots a rather adorable creature in her path. Could it be one of those Pokemon Augustine told her about? Whatever the creature before is, Tori knows one thing for certain: he is adorable, and she is weak.

She approaches him slowly, only for him to happily trot up to her and offer a ribbon-like feeler to her. She kneels down and takes it into her hand. Cute...!

Does your character notice this and approach? Maybe think it's a little weird that she's just perfectly okay with ribbon feelers and feel the need to express this? Go nuts.]

But Angel loves cute things, and Sylveon is absolutely the definition. She had been headed back from town too, and seeing Tori ahead of her she'd hurried to catch up. But now, all her attention was on the pokémon.]

[She's also accompanied by a pink, white, and blue pokémon hovering somewhat behind her. The Rotom is still there too, just peeking out from behind Angel's long bang near her neck.]

I saw a bunch of those creatures out before too, but not this one.

But only for a little while. Unfortunately, his new pal is still hungry, and he eventually trots off to attempt to eat the gems off the ground. Something tells Jeb that he shouldn't allow this.]

[While the flashes of panic on Saeko's face are brief, there's no mistaking the wide-eyed stares at the sky or the way she's tensed. W-What.... not again, please not again.

[Once she's calmer, Saeko is more than a little enthusiastic about collecting as many gems and stones as she can get her hands on, stuffing them... into her seemingly bottomless pit of a bag? Well, it seems that way. there's also two pokeballs and a greatball hooked onto a belt at her waist, each about the size of a baseball.] Hey, 'kura. Think we could fill this all the way?

[The sableye with her seems to nod with a wide, and probably unsettling to anyone not used to it, grin. The sound it makes is close to an Iieee as it nods. Of course they can fill the bag with tasty gems.]

[When she's not filling her bag to the brim with all kinds of gems and rocks, Saeko's got her pokedex out with one of the most dubious looks ever. Some of the wild? pokemon running around she recognises easily enough, even if they seem... stranger than what she's used to. Others, like the ludicolo before her?... not so much.] That is not a runpappa!

[Them being the pair of mightyena that are growling at each other. Growling and posturing, all displays of two pokemon trying to establish the (very much temporary, Saeko is not adopting any pokemon; she has her hands more than full, thank you very much!) pecking order. One Saeko's, the other very much not.] They should be done soon, but I wouldn't take any chances.

[Given she's standing at least two metres away yet keeping a wary eye on the pokemon and a pokeball is in hand? She's ready to move if things get rough.

She's a responsible pokemon trainer after all (or, tries to be). Random property damage is both Rude and Expensive.]

[It wasn't often you saw a mightyena in the wild, so Steven's come closer to Saeko's side away from the hound pokémon. He has his hands in his pockets, diamond dust in his hair. He's kind of... filthy? But when doesn't his suit have a fine coat of dust on it? His Carbink is floating near his elbow, watching the mightyena with some hesitation.]

I've seen whole routes closed down for hours because they wouldn't stop circling each other and trainers didn't want to get involved. Maybe there's a way to distract them?

Diamond Dust

[When the first gem strikes her, Y'shtola pulls her staff from its harness on her back with the swift reaction of one accustomed to battle. Her other hand rises as she gathers aether around her, ready to conjure a shield at need.]

[But though the gems continue to fall, none of them do so with any force, and after concluding that this rain of stones is not dangerous, she drops her hand and tucks her staff away once more.]

[Then she sets out, looking for anyone she can find to ask about this phenomenon. Perhaps one of them knows about it, and she is far more curious than she cares to admit. (And worried. 'Tis more the act of a primal than nature.)]

Who's That Pokémon?

[Y'shtola lifts her hands away from the Bidoof, now that the healing conjury has done its work. The wounds it had sustained in a battle with some other Pokémon are gone, and as it realizes this, it begins a happy little scamper around.]

[Satisfied with her work, Y'shtola begins to rise -- only for a Rattata to scramble right in, apparently seeking the same treatment. And moreover, other of these strange creatures are coming her way, all seeking aid.]

What the hell is this?

[Pretty good question, huh? Jecht has to stare upwards in sheer shock and amazement at the sight of gems streaking through the air and plummeting to the ground. Like nothing he's ever seen, and he's seen a lot of stuff in his time.]

[It kinda reminds him of pyreflies, and that's a bittersweet thought indeed.]

Hey! HEY!

[On the bank of the river, Jecht yells angrily at a Pokémon lumbering around in it. An Ursaring, to be precise, who pays the shouting human no mind as it looks for food in whatever form it can find.]

YOU! YEAH, YOU! Get outta my fishing spot! Go find your own!

[The Ursaring looks up at last, regards Jecht for one contemptuous second, then snorts and goes back to its foraging and fishing.]

[Jecht, being a sensible and mature adult, immediately balls his fists and steps into the water. This is an excellent plan which will have excellent results.]

Truly Outrageous

[If this land seeks to provide for wealth, Mewtwo will not say no. With a wave of one hand, he lifts the gems from a large section of grass, then tightens his fingers to bring them all together into a ball. It catches the light surrounding it from his psychic energy and sparkles brilliantly, less subtle than he might like -- a bright signal to everyone around that here is strangeness afoot.]

Gotta Catch 'Em All

So. As I have arrived, so too have other Pokémon. Is this chance? Coincidence? Or is there a greater purpose behind it?

Is this the 'blessing' from Arceus?

[Three small Pokéballs spin circles above the palm of one hand, their path wobbling from Mewtwo's own confusion at it expresses itself in his psychic energy. But after a moment they stop, and drop into his hand again, which closes around them in a surprisingly alien way thanks to the set of his three large fingers.]

I started my training career with Charmander, Bulbasaur, and Squirtle, like so many trainers before me. But in my effort to make them superior, I treated them as less than myself. Perhaps now it is time to begin once more -- to start my journey anew, and this time raise my Pokémon as partners... and friends.

[Rising up off the ground, Mewtwo begins to scan the area, looking for any examples of those three Pokémon.]

We're Like Diamonds in the Sky

[ Once the diamond dust stops being dust and turns into actual diamonds (and other gems), Scarlet is overcome by a bout of curiosity. What quality of gems would she get from weathering this storm, she wonders? ]

[ So, after several trips to gather baskets and a magnifier, Scarlet sets up shop just within the village square, hopefully out of everyone's ways; as jewels of various sizes fill the largest of her containers, she sifts through them with a deft hand and a keen eye, sorting them out and setting them into their own dedicated box. ]

[ Whatever she harvests here will be of good use in goldsmithing, after all! ]

Junimo Friends

[ After spending a few hours sorting things out, Scarlet decides to take a break and let things fill up as she rests. So, rest she does, right beneath a tree with her hands folded upon her lap. ]

[ She's soon encircled by a group of curious green critters, some of which have taken the liberty of (gently) picking small jewels out of the sleeping giant's hair and building a slow-growing pile at her feet. ]

[ Well, at least they're helpful? ]
