mingle - raining cats and dogs (?)
It was a regular day for farming and living and whatever people wanna do - clouds had built over the last few days, but other then a slight bit of rain, things were normal.
Until now.
It began with rain. Just regular rain. Until the rain seemed to shudder and become soft ice. It looked like a mix of rain and snow - and glimmered like diamonds. It wasn't cold, it was just... beautiful. What a strange event...
That is, until a few hours passed. The diamond dust falling from the sky wasn't too weird. Even if it was nearing the end of Summer, it was quite nice. What began next, though? It was even weirder.
Diamonds and other gems had begun to fall from the sky, though they seemed to impact people just like rain. Not painful at all. They were real, at that! Whatever was causing this, it was... well, weird. It wasn't just the people and the outsiders curious about this - Pokemon from the forests and beyond seemed to be coming out into the town. Oddly, they were mostly Zubat and Bidoof... but there's a lot of other Pokemon, curious about the gems! Some of them are even eating them. Please stop.
...though, people not distracted by the Pokemon might notice small apple-like rat creatures. Some of them even seem to be falling from the sky with some squeaking.
The next day, things will be back to normal - any items not picked up will vanish, just as they appeared.

[[ nia didn't mind rain. she had seen it quite a few times in her adventures, and her first experience was, in a roundabout way, rather positive in the long run. because of this, she walked around outside as normal with only her pink hoodie to keep her hair dry. who needs an umbrella? not this chick!
however, as it started to sparkle and shine, she took immediate notice. this, she had never seen. she stops, staring up to try and understand what is happening before beaming brightly at the sight. ]] Oh...! How beautiful!
[[ if you're anywhere around her, she will turn to you and point at the glittering rain as she asks: ]] Excuse me! What is this? I have never seen something such as this!

[[ you can find nia crouched down, speaking directly to a bidoof. it seems to be really interested in a gem, but she's far more intrigued by such a cute little furpal.
of course, a wild bidoof is still a wild bidoof, no matter how cute it may be. as nia offers her hand for the pokemon to sniff, it seems rather startled by the action and swats at her hand! don't pet strange animals, nia! ]]
Oh! [[ she quickly draws back her hand, examining it as the bidoof waddles away with a gem in, er, mouth. it seems she has a small cut on one of her fingers, but nothing too serious. feel free to lecture her on animal safety, or just call her an idiot for doing something like that. ]]
