mingle - raining cats and dogs (?)
It was a regular day for farming and living and whatever people wanna do - clouds had built over the last few days, but other then a slight bit of rain, things were normal.
Until now.
It began with rain. Just regular rain. Until the rain seemed to shudder and become soft ice. It looked like a mix of rain and snow - and glimmered like diamonds. It wasn't cold, it was just... beautiful. What a strange event...
That is, until a few hours passed. The diamond dust falling from the sky wasn't too weird. Even if it was nearing the end of Summer, it was quite nice. What began next, though? It was even weirder.
Diamonds and other gems had begun to fall from the sky, though they seemed to impact people just like rain. Not painful at all. They were real, at that! Whatever was causing this, it was... well, weird. It wasn't just the people and the outsiders curious about this - Pokemon from the forests and beyond seemed to be coming out into the town. Oddly, they were mostly Zubat and Bidoof... but there's a lot of other Pokemon, curious about the gems! Some of them are even eating them. Please stop.
...though, people not distracted by the Pokemon might notice small apple-like rat creatures. Some of them even seem to be falling from the sky with some squeaking.
The next day, things will be back to normal - any items not picked up will vanish, just as they appeared.

I could recall Tsuyoi but that would solve nothing and I'd have to deal with an aggressive guraena later, mister. [A shake of her head.] It's best to let them do their thing. If it helps, they're probably both sub-adults, though the other one isn't like any guraena I've seen.
[The pair continues to circle each other, hackles raised and deep growls coming from both, though Tsuyoi seems to be slowly gaining the upper hand.]

[That's also why he takes the obvious differences in her mightyena versus the wild one at face value.]
Hopefully the wild one will back down and take off. They're a little too close to town anyway, I wouldn't want an over excited mightyena to hurt anyone not paying close enough attention.
[He looks at his Carbink briefly.]
I could always have Carbink try to break them up, too.

[As if she could have stopped eco-terrorists, but details.
The hand not holding a pokeball scrubs her face and she bites her lip, eyes flicking between the carbink and the other two pokemon.] Um. Tsuyoi's eighthbadge level, and I...
[She doesn't know anything about the pokemon, and getting the 'dex out would mean taking her eyes off the pokemon and she has no idea how the other trainer feels about darks, but - she can't seem like an irresponsible trainer who's willing to risk the safety of people.] What badge level is yours?
no subject
[He reaches for his lapel, pulling it open to reveal the glint of a pin underneath. A League pin badge, the league symbol wrapping around Hoenn's regional symbol-- in platinum to show his status as Champion. Most trainers would recognize it, especially ones that follow badge leveling.]
Don't worry about that. Carbink has seen her fair share of nasty fights. She's also part fairy type, so she won't have a problem dealing with these guys.
no subject
Still. It's someone who's with the League and that means she can trust the adult's judgement.
That said: What the heck is a 'fairy-type'?
Not yet officially classified and named, that's what Miss-from-1996.] Right. Then um. Please try and break them up.no subject
Don't be too hard on them, one of them is still a trainer's pokémon.
[The little pokémon trills softly, floating closer to the mightyena and trying to get their attention.]
Use dazzling gleam!
[With a louder trill, the Carbink lets out a flash of light that illuminates every fleck of diamond dust in the air, and any gems left on the ground. It's blinding, and beautiful.]
[It's also... super effective.]

[She has to defend her pokemon's honour, after all!
That said, she flings an arm up at the flash of light. Holy pokeballs, bright! That said, the wild mightyena looks very much worse for wear, but it's still standing. She shakes herself and takes off, away from the part fairy. She's not sticking around to deal with that.
Tsuyoi seems a bit better off and like the wild one, she shakes herself, though she also bristles a bit until Saeko whistles with a 'Here!'. The hyena-like hound pads over and sits before her trainer, who digs out a sitrus berry and offers it to the hound, who gobbles it up.] Good lady.
[Tsuyoi's tail thumps on the ground. Of course she's a good lady.] That's some attack. Is that native to your home region, mister?

[Steven dusts off his hands once the conflict has been resolved, and pats Carbink's head when she comes back over to them. He gives Tsuyoi a nod too, out of respect, knowing how temperamental they could be. Steven just hopes she won't hold a grudge against his Carbink for attacking and breaking up her fight.]
I'm from Hoenn, my name is Steven Stone.
no subject
[It's the way Hoenn's said that catches her attention more than anything - 'Steven Stone' doing little more than tripping her up a bit over which is the surname. Addressing him via first name would be unthinkably forward on her end.] Oh! You're from Lillie-san's world too, Stone-san?
[And it will be Stone-san forever. Sorry Steven.]
no subject
[Mr. Stone is his father.]
It's nice to meet you too, Saeko. I'm not sure I know a Lillie though, is she another trainer you met?
no subject
[She nods.] I met her when I first arrived. She's younger than me but I'm not sure, and has an Alolan rokon with her. It's really cute and it hatched from an egg.
[Yes, that is something worth noting.]
no subject
I see... I haven't been to Alola myself yet but I know the League is making plans to hold an event there. That's very exciting indeed.
[His Carbink floats over nearer to Saeko and brrrrs in her direction, checking her out.]
Which region are you from?
no subject
That, and she's pulling out her pokedex and pointing it at the carbink. All that does is display the kanji for "No information found" and Saeko soon returns it to a pocket.]
Asagi city in Jōto, but I moved to Hōen just under a year ago. It's alright, though I'd like to travel it again one day. Being so focused on the competitive nature of the badge journey didn't leave much time for sightseeing. Plus, I was doing my best to not get caught up in the eco-terrorism around the time.
[It's a good thing Tsuyoi's next to her, as Saeko's hand buries itself into the hound's fur.]
