[action!]
[Wherever you may be—at home on your farm, out and about in town, exploring the wildlife, or perhaps even wandering through the more dangerous areas—someone has come to approach you, seemingly patrolling the area with a confident stride.]
Excuse me. I wanted to inform you that I have assumed the position of Sheriff. My name is Munakata, first name Kyousuke, and I can be contacted under that name at any time if you have issues that require police intervention. If you are capable of taking care of yourself I encourage you to apply for a position under me. We could use greater numbers to enforce order.
[Kyousuke himself is white-haired and imposing, with large snowy owl wings on his back and feathers covering the area where his right eye should be, like so. He is visibly carrying a sword, with another one tucked hidden in his coat in a compact state. He doesn't give off the impression that he's going to be a very easygoing Sheriff... but at least if you're in danger, that might be reassuring?]
Do you have any further questions or suggestions?

THIS IS ALSO OTA, THREADJACK AWAY IF DESIRED
But this man has a dog tail and ears, as if he's the police dog to match Kyousuke's police . . . owl . . . and also, that tail is wagging furiously, totally ruining the hardass policeman effect. So it goes.
He's open to be approached, questioningly looked at, asked about police work, or whatever. Either way, at some point, there's a lull in things, and he speeds his stride to catch up to Kyousuke himself.]
How's it going, big shot? No more delivering mail.

[He smiles as he turns to the voice.]
Better than the work on the island. But this should be better than both. Between this and the farm, there shouldn't be too much downtime.
[He thoughtlessly said that like that was a good thing even though his downtime has been pretty damn sweet recently.......]
no subject
Like hell there won't be. Don't think you're getting out of your breaks like this.
no subject
[He sounds sheepish, realizing his misstep.]
I didn't mean it like that. Just that we shouldn't be bored.
no subject
[He lifts his hands, jokingly. The left one is gloved, but otherwise looks much like the other, for anyone who doesn't already know the difference.]

[It feels a little daring, jumping so quickly from a serious answer to a playful quip, but Juzo seems to understand that there was no ill will meant. The corner of his lip tugs upward, amused.]
no subject
[Damn, his flawless plan. At least it lightened the mood again. That tiny smile is enough to get his tail going again.]
Working under you like this, I can keep an eye on you along with this whole town.
no subject
[Watch out, it crossed from playful into genuine dere!! His smile grows fuller. (Ahh, the tail is sooo cute.)]
no subject
Good. Because at this rate I'm gonna lose my touch for actual police work. How'm I supposed to punch criminals to death with you looking at me like that?

Which is to say, it's in that awkward in-between period between meals when she comes sashaying up to him, a wrapped bento-sized item in her hands. She's not trying to sneak up on him, but she does switch her approach from a straightforward one to a sidle, getting up to his side and then peeking up through her lashes at him. ]
Hey~ Officer. ♥ Do you have a moment?
no subject
Huh? There a problem, miss?
no subject
But for the moment Chisa just opens her eyes wiiide and innocent, deliberately fidgeting in place as she peeks up at him. Hell, why not: she rocks on her heels a little to further play up the act. ]
Weeeeell... you see, I had a li~ttle bit of a problem at my farm earlier. I was hoping you could help me.
no subject
Someone prowling around your property? I'll punch his nose in for you.
no subject
[ She holds up her little basket, then uses her free hand to undo the wrapping. There is the sudden waft of sweet sweet baked goods coming from that object, and from the grin on Chisa's face, that was deliberately planned. ]
The problem is that I made a little too much earlier, sooooo...
no subject
[Groan. It's mostly the groan of I can't believe you pulled this and not the groan of deep, primal lust over freshly baked sweets, but it's definitely a little bit the latter. She'd waited until he was out so she could spring this on him, dammit!]
Honestly, I went a little overboard on breakfast. You try those cinnamon rolls at the station yet?
[That said, he's reaching out for the basket anyway.]
no subject
[ She pouts at that, though like her "innocent" act, it's overly acted, silly rather than serious. There's a whole wide array of cookies in that tin, though at least most of them are fairly small and thin. Nothing too rich on its own, though if he eats the whole thing that'd probably not be a good idea. ]
Anyway, you can share those with Mallory if you want. If you don't, I have more for him.
[ But you know, he COULD share them. If he wanted. ]
no subject
Next time warn me if you're gonna bake for me and I won't stuff my face with cinnamon rolls first. You've only got yourself to blame. I'll find him . . . he can save me from myself. So, what'd you make for Kyousuke?
[Because she must have made him something. Ahh, the Sheriff's cute wife bringing him lunch. What the fuck has their life become?]

How's the K9 Unit doing?
[THIIIIIIIIIS GUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUY]

[Come on, Mallory, they're both Kyousuke's dogs and they know it.
He smacks Mallory on the back. It's kind of awkward, not being the sort of stupid bro thing he does often, but the truth is he just wants an excuse to touch him and this is the one his brain came up with. He regrets it basically immediately.]
. . . Quiet place. I'm not really complaining yet. Ask me again in a month, maybe I'll go crazy.
no subject
Going stir-crazy from peace and quiet's probably a ton better than going crazy from stress.
[You know, like half the damn 6th Branch. Jesus.
Anyway, he's just going to take advantage of that thinly-veiled excuse for a little comforting touch and clap his hand to Maera's shoulder... then immediately trail it down his arm and bring his prosthetic in for a closer look because he's been dying to investigate it since he got here. Talk about an upgrade!]
Hmm. [It's more of a muted 'ooh, ahh' than a sound of judgment.]
no subject
. . . It's not good for everything, but it's great for some stuff. I still switch out for the other one when I need it.
no subject
[He has to wonder just what constitutes switching back to that one. Then again, either of them are more useful than what Mallory has (doesn't have) going on right now.
Maybe someday.
For now he slides his fingers back up to meet real flesh, because he is totally being paid to stand around touching himself on the job. Wow. But he also reeeeally missed Maera's comforting and familiar presence and he wishes he could just say that without feeling stupid about it.]
no subject
[Which is undoubtedly a very, very important thing he does with his "hands," okay.
So is this. Maera shifts just a little closer, wordlessly inviting the contact. Doing it out loud or too obviously would ruin the moment! They can be stoic assholes about this together!]
You busy after hours?
no subject
ONE. DAY!!!]
...Me? Not really- what do you think I'd even be doing? [Really, Maera. If there's something he's trying to ask, why can't he just say it instead of making it sound like he's trying to casually-
oh god is he asking him out. Oh god. Don't laugh, don't laugh, don't even crack a stupid grin. But if he is, that's all kinds of hilarious. And cute. And probably weird, but Mallory's used to that part by now.]
no subject
[Uh, yeah, this is definitely asking him out. He starts off brash as usual, but by the end he's trailed off into some embarrassment, as always creeps in around the edges when he's trying and failing to be smooth.]
