[Wherever you may be—at home on your farm, out and about in town, exploring the wildlife, or perhaps even wandering through the more dangerous areas—someone has come to approach you, seemingly patrolling the area with a confident stride.]

Excuse me. I wanted to inform you that I have assumed the position of Sheriff. My name is Munakata, first name Kyousuke, and I can be contacted under that name at any time if you have issues that require police intervention. If you are capable of taking care of yourself I encourage you to apply for a position under me. We could use greater numbers to enforce order.

[Kyousuke himself is white-haired and imposing, with large snowy owl wings on his back and feathers covering the area where his right eye should be, like so. He is visibly carrying a sword, with another one tucked hidden in his coat in a compact state. He doesn't give off the impression that he's going to be a very easygoing Sheriff... but at least if you're in danger, that might be reassuring?]

Do you have any further questions or suggestions?

[It's past sunset which is when the miqo'te prefers to start his day, at the moment seeing what he can do about a meal in town before everything closes down for the night. Cehd'ra's ears twitch at Kyousuke's approach, resisting the urge to duck away...but if he wanted to be a threat he would have had that sword drawn.

Hearing him out puts Cehd'ra much closer to at ease, the miqo'te subconsciously tugging his somewhat tattered black and gold uniform straighter, his own daggers still sheathed on his hips. This is the sheriff now? That would mean...]

I've already signed on, sir. Cehd'ra Rowe.

[Should he salute? Bow? This isn't the army but there has to be some protocol...]

[ Oh, for more appropriate clothes to ham this up. Her old apron! A checkered dress! Something that would make waltzing up to him to play along more appropriate!

Unfortunately, what money she does have has been spent on things for their farm, and otherwise frittered away on little treats. Which... now that she thinks about it, he'd probably raise an eyebrow at her for, but at least she wouldn't be in trouble. Much trouble. The sort of trouble that doesn't need to be shared in public.

But she can't help it. She clears her throat while he's waiting for the answer from whatever poor person he's looming over, and she says, ]

Munakata-kun, a word? When you're done. ♥

[ She's so mild about it. Surely there's nothing serious, ]

[He blinks at the ears, which are familiar to him now, but which aren't something he can just take for granted anymore. He wonders what worlds this man passe through, and at what point he picked up the ears... but that curiosity is less immediately relevant to the conversation. He notices the uniform, too.]

Ah, I see. I saw your name on file. What is your experience with law enforcement?

[Cehd'ra is already hired, and so this isn't really a job interview—but Kyousuke doesn't bother reassuring him about the nature of his question, and it comes off more judgmental than intended.]

[He turns to her with a puzzled frown; it sounds almost as if he's the one in trouble. (The person he was talking to is more than happy to take this excuse to not have this conversation anymore. They weren't eager to be having it in the first place, and abscond when Kyousuke's attention is distracted.)]

Yes? What is it?

[ Cute.................. no! No, she can't do anything to embarrass him too much! Not on the first day!!

But she does wink in passing to ~~his victim~~ the person he was talking to, and puts on a brighter smile. It's more of a high school era smile than anything, the sort of way she'd smile when she was about to try and wheedle him into something. ]

Fiiiirst, congratulations! ♥ Though, I have to say... looking at you right now...

[What would the officer be without his faithful dog underling? Literally. Half-literally. Ten percent literally, whatever—the point is that there's a man following Kyousuke at a bit of a distance, dressed in uniform himself. Physically, he's even more imposing, being slightly taller, even broader, and with one hell of a resting bitch face.

But this man has a dog tail and ears, as if he's the police dog to match Kyousuke's police . . . owl . . . and also, that tail is wagging furiously, totally ruining the hardass policeman effect. So it goes.

He's open to be approached, questioningly looked at, asked about police work, or whatever. Either way, at some point, there's a lull in things, and he speeds his stride to catch up to Kyousuke himself.]

How's it going, big shot? No more delivering mail.

[He glances down at himself, still at a loss.]

What about it?

Delivering mail wasn't all that bad.

[He smiles as he turns to the voice.]

Better than the work on the island. But this should be better than both. Between this and the farm, there shouldn't be too much downtime.

[He thoughtlessly said that like that was a good thing even though his downtime has been pretty damn sweet recently.......]

I think... maaaaaybe...

[ And as she's saying this, she reaches out to give his tie a little tug. Just a small one. Hello. She really wishes she had a low-cut barmaid's dress or something right now but this sundress will just have to do. ]

You should let me help you look the part better. ♥

[...Oh woah, she knew that tone and stance anywhere. Her brain screamed "Luna". But only in voice. It would take a millisecond to realize that this was "Icarus". The slightly friendlier one of them that didn't make Daria nearly as uncomfortable.

This was what he was capable of, though. Wow.

She stared right at Icaru--"Munakata", not really doing much other than giving a deadpan expression. But she had gotten far better at welcoming people important to her important people. Ica-"Munakata" was fine by her book, and would receive pretty decent respect.]

Just one. Pays better than your own job, doesn't it?

[Hey.]

[Izuku is on All Might's far when he's approached by Kyousuke. The green haired teen is hard at work pulling weeds and dumping them in the bucket. He stands and turns when he hears the footsteps of the confident stride. He listens to the announcement and it piques his interest. Sheriff who is looking for police and deputies? It wouldn't be a bad position to integrate himself into for multiple reasons.]

It is nice to meet you Munakata-san. My name is Midoriya Izuku. I can take care of myself. I was a hero in training back home. In the East's most prestigious high school, U.A. Would you be willing to let me try out to join your growing police force?

[Yeah, no, sorry Kyousuke. At least one of them remembers downtime is a good thing. Juzo frowns, crossing his arms.]

Like hell there won't be. Don't think you're getting out of your breaks like this.

[The ears are perfectly normal...the wings are not but Cehd'ra's seen a lot of oddities since stepping off that bus. A very large sheep man, for example. The miqo'te can handle a winged hyur with only one double take.

Besides, Kyousuke being the sheriff and all, he doesn't want to insult a superior. Especially not one who already sounds skeptical of him.]

I'm a soldier. Was. Was a soldier. Up until recently...

['Hours before making it to the valley' recently, in fact. What to do with himself now had become a problem, one that signing on as an officer seemed to be the best solution for.]

I admit it isn't exactly the same.

[His mouth does curve into a smile, at least, now that she's made the tone more explicitly playful. He lets himself be tugged forward without straightening back up afterwards.]

Oh—? Of course I wouldn't refuse your help.

[ If she can flirt with the sheriff, she can flirt with his not-so-little dog, too.

Which is to say, it's in that awkward in-between period between meals when she comes sashaying up to him, a wrapped bento-sized item in her hands. She's not trying to sneak up on him, but she does switch her approach from a straightforward one to a sidle, getting up to his side and then peeking up through her lashes at him. ]

Hey~ Officer. ♥ Do you have a moment?

[Oh... There's an unexpected face. He can see the recognition in her eyes, too, which is all the better; he didn't really know her well enough to navigate the situation of knowing her double when she didn't recognize him in return, and he's grateful that he's spared it for now.]

"Your own job"? Do you mean in comparison to self-employment? I think that's variable. Certainly, depending on your skillset, you might be able to earn quite a bit of money through farming or otherwise. But if you'd prefer a steady paycheck it may provide financial security to work for the local government.

[This kid gets straight to the point. Kyousuke finds it a positive quality, although it makes him wonder how militarized this... "East's most prestigious high school" was. (He feels reflexively scornful that any school would tout itself above Hope's Peak, but he grudgingly accepts that Hope's Peak probably doesn't exist in every universe. Hope's Peak certainly wasn't the kind of establishment that had its students deliver answers to questions with such discipline, either.)]

Of course. The city will be taking care of hiring officers independent of my oversight, for the time being, but I would be willing to work with you.

You know I'll do my best for you!

[ She leans in closer, ducking her head a little so she can peer up through her lashes at him. It would be easy to kiss him, but also, her body language is suggestive enough, and that's enough. For now. ]

Just, maybe something that's a little more fitting. Something appropriate!

[ She's going to dress him up like an old western sheriff unless someone stops her.

Or maybe not, but at least something that's not all white for the sake of her doing the laundry. ]

You'll still probably want the coat though, huh...

[He shakes his head, relaxing his demeanor a bit.]

No, my own experience is close to that description. A hybrid position, at least. It isn't any inconvenience.

Oh...

[He sounds sheepish, realizing his misstep.]

I didn't mean it like that. Just that we shouldn't be bored.

You've got something planned...

[Maybe this is going to end up in some kind of sexy policeman roleplay? That wouldn't be a terrible option. Hmmm.]

I'm not overly attached to the coat. I'm not about to throw it away, but there's no need for you to incorporate it into whatever you have planned. It's not always weather-appropriate.

[Here's Police Dog #2! Only figuratively, alas; no cute ears and tail for Mallory. He doesn't even get to accompany Kyousuke and Maera on their little farm tour! Something about three big, stern-looking guys looking more like a pack of thugs to the locals than trustful peacekeepers? What a bunch of wimps.

Ah well. He's fine with holding down the fort at the (small, cozy, quaint) station anyway. (There's even one of those old-timey looking cells, wow.)

Maera's the one who's closer with this particular Kyousuke anyway... Mallory's more than ready to catch up, but it's not lost on him that there's still some small degree of distance there, even with only the one Kyousuke around. But he's used to loving from afar. At least he gets to be perfectly open about it now.

Which is why he has no shame in gazing fondly at Kyousuke when he is around, a dreamy lovestruck fool.]

Look at you, Mr. Large-And-In-Charge... you always were at your best at the head of things.

[Worst too, sometimes, BUT UH. NEVER MIND THAT.]

[And then there's this guy, decked in a huge mistake which should be enough of a crime to get him arrested on the spot, honestly. He's humming to himself and happily tending to the beginnings of what looks like it will be a massive garden around his little house. Totally oblivious until Kyousuke's right behind him.

-Eh?

[He listens about as far as the word "sheriff" before his mind takes off in a dozen different directions. Is he under arrest for something?! Has someone tracked him down from home? His brothers must have framed him because they were jealous of his happy practically-married life! Or maybe they noticed his absence and sent out a search party... no, who is Karamatsu kidding. Even he can't believe that one anymore.

Man, this guy's really cool-looking. Is he related to Weiss? They both have white hair and those striking eyes... Or maybe he's an angel? Ah... Yes. Of course. That makes the most sense. He pulls his sunglasses from a pocket he couldn't possibly even have in those shorts and dons them and a smug grin.]

Heh... So the lawman of the lord has come to send me back to Hell at last...

[ Of course there's going to be some of what. Who do you take her for? But she can keep it safe for public while they're out in it. At the same time, while her words are innocuous enough, her tone is still definitely pushing the flirting line. ]

You'll probably want it if it gets colder here... but, I think I can come up with something a little better than a suit for you. Just for starting out.

And anyway, I'll have to get into the habit of doing clothes modification. I might as well start with a project for you!

. . . I know. Just warning you now, I'll take matters into my own hand if I have to.

[He lifts his hands, jokingly. The left one is gloved, but otherwise looks much like the other, for anyone who doesn't already know the difference.]
