he's so helpful

So you want to be a farmer? Here's the deal. Farming's stupid easy. First thing you gotta do, is you gotta--

[ streeeetch ] You gotta get yourself all nice and limber for the farming. [ crossing one arm over a shoulder, streeetch, doing the opposite. ] The farming that we were all interrupted in the multiverse to do. Specifically, coming here for farming, when my best friends are back home and this is supposed to be a place that reunites best friends or whatever.

Thanks, Marge, you're one of a kind.

Anyway, you take some seeds. [ Throws them over his shoulder. ] -- oop.

[ He turns and blasts the seeds to grow into an impressive beanstalk, sprouting weird vegetables that only wizardry would make. ]

And that's my TED talk on farming where is the bus to the Moon.

[As he's never seen a dragon, nor knows any classifications of them, Silas will now assume bona-fide dinosaur to be a specific kind. The information can be neatly filed away in his mind to maybe make a fool of himself later with. The additional comments cause him a small chuckle, ears blooming open again slowly.]

Ah, yes, why indeed. [he says this fondly, almost nostalgic] My fellow druid Oscar would say much the same about himself. But... he could turn into a most lovely peacock, so I didn't understand his aversion. His vanity remained intact either way.

[watching the plants bloom and crawl out in all directions is actually not all that surprising to Silas. There was a branch of Springtide druids who specialized in just that kind of magic, providing for their people with crops that couldn't be sustained below ground without it.]

Not my branch of magic, but I've seen the like. Not paired with such eagerness to show off, but... similar.

It was all very impressive. [He gives a little, slightly sad chuckle. He hadn't meant to take so much wind from the mage's sails, but admittedly it's the druid way. They don't look kindly on indulging in prideful displays, even if they were an overly prideful sort... His expression is kind, a little apologetic.]

Not too much to tell. As I mentioned, I primarily work as a doctor, using my heal magic. It's not... what did you call it, zesty? [he laughs a little more, thinking that a rather fun way to describe such things. He's used to magic being treated with so much more weight.]

I did visit the local clinic, but I hope to do house calls. It's easy for me to travel, I think that would be easier than others going out of their way to find me. Or, well, that's the plan. [That's Silas through and through, always willing to go out of his way to help others. Owning and maintaining a clinic would only take time away from helping those in need, especially when there already was a clinic running. Silas certainly didn't want to step on toes...]

So, if you're ever in need, or somebody who is, feel free to call on me. [he gives a polite little bow, overly formal about these kind of arrangements]

Why would I be looking at the back of your-- d, don't answer that. [he cuts himself off, rolling his eyes with a little wry and embarrassed smile. Whoops. Let's not think about that longer than he needs too....]

There's no reason for me to have gold, so that doesn't matter to me. We druids survive on our own, we don't live with need for any material things, aside from the clothes on our back. So, no reason to even consider competition. I'm just here to help, nothing more.

Yes, I am. [the reintroduction catches him a bit off guard, flustering him as he offers a gloved hand to the man to shake in greeting. His hold is loose and quick, not one to assert dominance or something so silly.]

My apologies! You said so earlier, but I didn't introduce myself in turn... I am Silas, a Druid of the Springtide clan. A pleasure, Taako. I take it you have met other druids? [probably very different sort from his kind, who are less all the one with nature type and more about exerting a.... respectful control over it.]

His whole arm--? Cannot say I envy that, losing my ears was distressful enough... I feel I got a rather easy growth. My compatriot Irving was the bravest Druid I knew in that, he put the seed into his eyes. The result was not... what I would call pleasant. [Silas ears are rather cute in the end, Irving's eyes were.... very frightening. Even after years and knowing better, they still unnerved even Silas.]

Ah, well, he had been blind since birth. It was worth a shot, as there was tale of at least one druid prior being granted great sight of past and future when he was Seeded. Irving was... granted no such powers, but I don't fault him for taking the chance.
