[action/log/thing] first day here
Who: First scenario is Ray and Zack only, but the second is Ray and whoever runs across her!
What: Ray arrives at an odd hour, gets brought home, and then does some exploring. Also, one of the buses has lost part of its roof. Whoops.
[1. Arriving]
[The town is asleep when this bus screeches to a stop a few feet away from the actual bus stop. Yes, screeches, and it's clear why at a glance: there's a hole in the roof, as if something crashed through with great force.
The agitated driver exits, carrying what looks like a silvery package. Once they put it down though, it's obvious that it's not a package - just a small, worryingly pale girl with pale blonde hair and a white coat. The driver looks even more agitated as they shout concerns at the tiny thing.
People are not around to see how the girl doesn't react, nor how it unnerves the driver so badly they climb back into the bus and make a U-turn without even looking for anyone at the stop.
Rachel just stands there, like a tiny, discarded doll, and nobody is there. Nobody decent, anyway.
So that, of course, means...]
[2. Exploring]
[Decent people will probably run into Ray wandering around town, not much worse for wear despite her weird arrival. She's mostly on the edges of town, in the less populated areas. The woods, for instance, or the edges of other farms. She might be near the stores and whatnot, but not often.
For such a tiny teenager, her eyes are surprisingly dead-looking. There's no emotion on her face, and it's probably a little unnerving to see!
Maybe it's for the best that she shies away from the more populated areas. She's only trying to familiarize herself with the layout, after all; she's not actively trying to spook people by wandering around and being herself in their midst.]

3/idek anymore, lmfao
Which immediately turns into a surprised squawk as something else near the sign catches his eye.]
Hah?
[Blond, tiny...huh. Ha ha ha, okok maybe the heat is getting to him. There's no possible way, right?]
4/5, almost there...!
Blond, tiny, holding a bag and looking dead inside.
...oh.]
.......................................
[Oh no.]
I lied, 5/6
Hell.
NAW.]

He takes in a deep breath, before-]
WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING HERE?!
1/2
Footsteps. Still nothing to do with her. What part of this matters? None of it matters, not really. Something has gone terribly wrong. Now what does she do?
An inhale, not hers, and--]
no subject
... Zack?
[She is pretty sure he's still back in the place. It doesn't make sense, so she just tilts her head, almost curious. What even is going on?]
no subject
[He marches right over (complete with boots stompin' and all), and clamps a hand onto her head before shaking her.]
What are you even doing here?! What, did you think going on some magical fucking bus was gonna be a faster way to get out or something?! I knew you looked dead, but I didn't think your brain would die too!!
no subject
...Zack, you were aiming for an air duct, remember? But somehow I got here instead...
no subject
[Now it's his turn to furrow his brows. And stare in complete, dumbfounded confusion for a moment because what.]
...did you take some weird shit on the ride too? 'Cause you must have busted it harder than you thought. Last I remember, we just got up to B4!
no subject
[This is weird.]
You really don't remember?
[Then he probably doesn't remember-- any of the rest of that floor... How sad.]
no subject
[He squints a for a moment. Mm, she doesn't seem like she's lying. But, on the other hand...who knows? Either way, he grips at his scythe once more.]
You ain't lying to me, are ya?
no subject
[Even if he doesn't remember it-- he swore to God he'd kill her.
She won't lie to someone who would do that. Not about something like this, anyway.]
You threw me into the air duct, but somehow I fell into the bus instead. That's what I remember.
no subject
...tch.
[His hold on his scythe loosens. Honestly, what was he thinking? A girl like her lying to him?? There's no way. Which means there's only one other solution.]
If you can remember another floor and I can't, it's gotta be this place spewing all this magic bullshit then. Else we would've remembered the same thing.
no subject
...Magic exists here?
[It isn't you, Zack, it's the whole idea of magic being a thing. Zack doesn't lie, but boy is this a difficult concept to wrap her mind around.]
no subject
[How to even begin with something he doesn't even know at all; he scratches the back of his head and grumbles a little.]
I don't really get it, but weird stuff happens here. How the hell else would you explain a bus getting through a building and picking us up without crashing into shit?
no subject
[Wow, then that means he really did...]
So you threw really, really, really hard, then.
no subject
[BAP.]
No, dipshit! I said weird stuff happens here! What kind of person would be strong enough to throw someone into another world?!
no subject
You.
no subject
[He bops her head again.]
Ugh, fuck it. What the hell's your address so I can come over or something?
[...can they even give kids their own farm? Eh, who knows. He'd ask if he were smarter, but he doesn't.]
no subject
Address? Address... But I don’t live here. Do I?
[Both of you morons, look for the newbie gift pack!!!]
no subject
[Only question is where is it? Doesn't look like Ray had pockets, as far as he saw. Maybe...
His eyes shift to her bag and lifts a finger to point at it.]
Hey, check your bag. It's gotta be in there.
no subject
[ Hesitantly, she nods and opens the bag, rifling around in it (and making sure Zack doesn’t see anything interesting. It’s easy enough in the dark, to conceal her mother’s weapon—)
She pulls out what should be a map, but is a note instead. After a quick scan, she states:]
The letter says I don’t have a farm, and that it’s better if I find a relative, legal guardian, or someone like that willing to take me in.
[She does not have those, and she doesn’t want to impose. This may be a problem, and she reads through the letter again, thoughtfully.]
no subject
[Weird. But, he does sigh a bit in relief. Least she won't be left alone.]
Alright, guess you're coming with me.
[Without even hesitating, he wraps an arm around Ray and hoists her via luggage style before heading off to his farm.]
no subject
Are you sure? I don’t want to be a burden.
[That’s pretty much the opposite of being helpful, after all.]
no subject
[TOO HARSH. But, he was never one to hold back, no matter how blunt it is.]
'Sides, we're still working together, right? Even if we're in another place, that ain't changing.
