You know, these things aren't really that difficult to use, once you get used to it.

[Martel gives a little wave into the camera and a bright smile.]

Well, it's been a busy first day! I won't bore anyone with the details, but I wanted to introduce myself and make both an offer and a request, so here we are.

My name is Martel Yggdrasill. I was a healer back home, so if you get hurt, please don't hesitate to call on me. I know there's a doctor in town, but if you're closer to (INSERT FARM PLOT HERE), you might as well come down and see me.

Anyway, I'm trying to get an orchard started, but I've run into the slight complication of funds. I'm not necessarily asking for a loan or anything, just some advice as to how to best scrape together some... seed money.

[And the entire spectrum of humor groans in pain.]

If you're curious as to how quickly my efforts will... bear fruit, well, I have something to show you.

[Another terrible pun is followed by her promptly turning her device to take in a... full-grown apple tree. With several ripe, juicy looking apples already hanging from it.

WEEKEND MINGLE; Station Café

[ As new arrivals pour in by bus, you might notice the Station Café, with wide windows open to the bus stop and a smattering of treats behind a glass counter smells richly of coffee, complete with a chalkboard proudly boasting the roasts of the day. And here to take your order is...

Marjorie, face down, asleep, with a 'NOW HIRING' sign propped up in front of her.

The papers surrounding her are a dizzying array of notes on all of you here... but when you dig for the goods on who's a murderer and who isn't, all you get are a list of most liked and disliked foods, and how to boost affection with them. She'll be quick to wake up and snatch them from you if she sees you with them, as they're confidential.

So, want a cup of coffee? See who's arrived this week or are arriving yourself? A notice on the wall says 'ALL OUTBOUND BUSES SUSPENDED UNTIL AUG 15TH DUE TO HYPERDIMENSIONAL SHIFT NOT WORKING FOR OUTGOING BUSES'

The cakes and sandwiches are just above your average JojaBucks kind, homemade but sleepily in the AM kind of way. They're a bit sloppy.

Another sign on the wall has a map of Seagull Town and all the vacant buildings in which to start businesses. On the counter are pokeballs, emblazoned with a seagull and a small 'seagull town' engraving-- they're souvenirs, but they work. ]

 [Time flies quickly when you're focused on working. But, Rip finally managed to clear most of her land and section out what she wanted for where things went. It wasn't anything fancy.. just log posts marking out plots and signs. A few of them say things like 'Future Apple trees' or 'Future Cherry Trees' . As Rip pans her device around, there's also the start of a rock wall to section off the garden she's started. There were so many rocks... why not? 

Eventually, she turns the device on herself with a shy smile and pushes her glasses up. The former huntress turned farmer was sitting on the porch of her home with a houndour puppy sprawled across her lap, napping.]

I finally got everything cleared und marked out. Now, I just haf to fill the land vith vat I vant. 

[..There's a lot of cleared land. Though, strangely, there are a lot of oak and a few maple trees surrounding the house, almost hiding it on view as if on purpose. And there might be a rather monstrously large log pile next to the house. Yes...she did it all herself. Rip kind of kept working nearly non stop up until this point.]

Zo, do anyone know a good quick crop I can grow to earn zome money? I'm going to need it for all zhe trees I vant... 

[Then she hesitates for a moment before coming to a decision.]

I am alzo a skilled hunter if you need zomeone to get rid of pests on your farm  or any hunting done in general.

[Izuku chooses the Wilderness Farm for a few reasons. Monsters roaming around at night not only allows him opportunity to fight and train against new opponents but also they can act as security. What better way to defend his land than allow the monsters to roam it and attack those who would trespass on his property. He works hard during his first real day as he pulls weeds, cuts tall grass, and cleans the debris from around his new farm. He gets some work done before he retreats into his home. One inside, he pulls his his phone and connects to the network that somehow reaches him even all the way out here.

He makes sure his clothes look fine before he presses the button to begin the video.]

Hello. My name is Midoriya Izuku. I thought it would be a good idea to introduce myself. I'd like to offer my services as a possible farm hand. I'm a hard worker and a fast learner. I won't slow down your farm. I just want to help.

[Moving to a new town that's still very alien to what he remembers of the world is very very intimidating. But the forest farm is calming even though it needs so much work. Farming is in his blood so it's much easier to simply start pulling weeds and breaking rocks, chopping the small logs and working to clear a small plot for himself. So much easier than talking to strangers and learning less familiar things in town.

It also leaves him time to think about his decision to come here. And to talk to the rat hidden in his hoodie's hood.]

Do think that Kyle and the others will be okay now? I mean now that they don't need to look after me anymore?

Is that really your question?

[Esme pauses at the return question whispered near his ear and then resumes pulling the weeds.]

I don't know...maybe not completely. I guess I just wonder if I made a rash decision by coming out here. I'm worried, even though it's so nice here.

Don't be. You heard the woman. You can go back. And I think they'll miss you. They seem attached. They like you.

[The reassurance is comforting and Esme smiles, straightening and rolling his shoulders to work out some stiffness before his slouches comfortably and turns around without noticing that he's got company to see him apparently talking to himself.]

You're right, as usual. We should call it a day.

[It's one of the Juzos, the one with the short hair. He's hunched over the table his jpad's on, resting his chin in his hand and looking generally unimpressed.]

Anyone see that lame bounty poster? Tell me nobody's stupid enough to go thinking they can win these monsters over by holding hands and singing songs... Your funeral if you are.

Oh. But whatever genius put that up better hope none of the little kids in town take it seriously and get hurt.
