A. Arrivals and Much More

You’re here because you were dropped somewhere that tried sending you home, or you're someone with a call to the heart to explore the vast universe. The buses run at odd schedules, so please pardon any interruptions! I hope you fellas make yourselves at home, here!

[ Marjorie’s whole speech rings through your ears as you begin to explore the area. It seems a few people who arrived on the TDM have already been here for a week, but you’re just a newcomer. So where are you when this all went down? Are you trying to get back on a bus that’ll take you home, or…?

B. Home Sweet Home

[ The dust has settled on the bus ride here, and you can’t help but notice that your farmland… well, it’s a mess. Rocks and grass everywhere, no matter which layout you were set with. You were given a set of tools, and the message that this land is yours to shape or change or build on no matter what you want, so long as it’s yours. The little crate by the edge of the house is what will hold your bounties from farming, collected nightly with money delivered to your mailbox the following day, like some kind of Produce Fairy visited.

The house is in alright shape. It’s not brilliant, but it has a kitchen, a bathroom, and a studio bedroom where all your belongings can be. It’s wide enough to accommodate several things until you upgrade it.

Sometimes you see a stray dog or cat at the edge of your property. Do you adopt it?

Anyway, it’s time to make what you will of your farm. ]

FESTIVAL PLAYLIST

[ Down a hill a little ways from Pelican Town is a remarkable festival set-up! Several attractions and vendors line the streets where everything is going down. Where will you go? ]

C. Food Stalls

[ Surrounding the entire property are dozens of food stalls, from all around the universe. Marjorie bussed in caterers from all around with a healthy sum of gold, and they’re happy to sell their wares in this strange place tonight. Where you might find octopus balls, you’ll also find kraken balls. Where you might find corndogs, you’ll find dogs selling corn.

It’s a veritable buffet! And the gold you’ve started with is more than enough to go shopping for food. Have fun! ]

D. Games

[ All manners of Carnival Games are set up! From throwing a baseball at bottles to catching goldfish with a paper net, everything you can dream of is here. There are even some unorthodox games, like dance-offs, karaoke, and a little bit of everything. Apparently, the NPC couldn’t choose who to go with what. It definitely makes for a big festival.

In addition to the above, there’s water gun races, squeaky duck ponds, skee-ball, target shooting, test your strength with a hammer, pitching speed, shooting hoops… and more! ]

E. Three-legged Race

[ You didn’t think this festival was going to go by without tomfoolery, did you? For the prize of 1,000 Gold, you can rally up a partner and get tied to them by the ankle, participating in a no-rules no-bars-held race. The winners will be randomized! But the real gift is going to be the fact that the ties around your ankles? Aren’t coming undone. You’re going to have to be tied together until 11 PM! ]

F. Fireworks

[ Errant magic and mishaps aside, you have to admit, the fireworks show at the end of it all is really something. Marjorie hired a pony for them, and the lights are as ethereal as they are non-traditional. It’s a good moment to snuggle up to someone or enjoy company with a new friend. ]

[Not wanting to hear more scoldings from his owner, the blue frog just relents and stay near him.]

Froakie tend to be mischievous creatures before they evolve. [Said Lusamine absently.]

Froakie? Is that what his species called?

That's what his species at the moment is. The Frog Pokemon, Fraokie can remove the bubbles around its neck and use it as a weapon to absorb and discharge kinetic energy.

It can evolve twice too, into it's full form Greninja and it's midlevel evolution Frogadier.

I see. So that's what he is.

[All Bulle cares about is that when will it be his time to evolve.]

Looks like you can evolve twice just like Modeste.

You have another fully evolved Pokemon with you then? [asked Lusamine curiously.]

Sort of. But I don't know if I can show you. Her appearance might be a bit... intimidating...

I almost forgot. My name is Augustine Sauveterre, I'm a college professor at Recolle University.

[At this, she raised an eyebrow.] Not Augustine Sycamore? How strange, you look very much like the professor from Kalos.

[This time, it's Augustine's turn to raise an eyebrow.]

Augustine Sycamore? Kalos?

Now that I think about it, I do have a memory of my past self that he was a Pokemon Professor as well...

And what is this Mega Evolution you've mentioned?

Yes, in fact you look exactly like him.

Hmm, then repression or some kind of alternate memory loss? It's hard to say.

Mega Evolution is a power up that can happen in mid-battle. It advances a Pokemon with a strong emotional bond with it's trainer to it's Mega state, such as Mega Charizard X and Y, or Mega Alakazam, or even Mega Gyarados. The list is still growing day by day.

So you're saying that "Professor Augustine Sycamore" might be my past self or my original identity?

[His eyes widens when he realizes the resemblance with one of his Pokemon's abilities.]

Strange... That's the same phenomenon that Modeste experienced. And all because of those strange stones that I've obtained a year ago.

It may very well be. There's been cases of amnesia, forgetfulness and construction of another life in the process. [She thought of her missing husband and pushed it aside.]

That would probably be a Megastone then, they're used to facilitate Mega Evolution.

Huh... I didn't think of that before... Then again, I did live in Recolle for all of my life, not knowing what these creatures are until now...

[He then folds his sleeve on his left arm to show her the stone embedded on his watch.]

So this is a Mega Stone as well?

[She looked at it and nodded.] Yes, that's a Mega Stone.

Which means, either you lost your memory and rebuilt it while forgetting who you might be, or it's a past life or something similar. Pokemon cannot Mega Evolve just out of nowhere mind you. Mega Evolution is a result of the most powerful bond between Human and Pokemon. 100% Absolute Trust is it's key.

A bond, huh?

Modeste already knew me when I first met her and yet, I managed to Mega Evolve her at some situations a few months later...

Then that stands to reason your bond is still strong.

[Lusamine leaned back in her chair, crossing her legs and folding her arms.] Ah, this is such an interesting research topic! Imagine, a human and his Pokemon separated from a moment in time, and when you meet again, the bond is just as strong.

It reminds me of how amazing and unreal the world of Pokemon really is.

I just wished I can able to remember more about Modeste and her bond with my past self.

[So far, he only remembered how they first met and her evolutions. Yet, there seemed to be no signs of any visions lately. Guess that it's because he's not in Recolle or that the app hasn't acted up lately.]

It sounds like you have a long way to go, Augustine. And yet, I'm sure you'll get through it. I can help as much as possible.

[She smiled.] Friends are just as powerful as partners.

[Augustine smiled upon hearing those words.]

That is true. Modeste is there to help me whenever I need to and I feel I need to do the same to her.

Her memories of her past self might be fractured, but I feel we may work together to learn more about our past.
