[action/log/thing] first day here
Who: First scenario is Ray and Zack only, but the second is Ray and whoever runs across her!
What: Ray arrives at an odd hour, gets brought home, and then does some exploring. Also, one of the buses has lost part of its roof. Whoops.
[1. Arriving]
[The town is asleep when this bus screeches to a stop a few feet away from the actual bus stop. Yes, screeches, and it's clear why at a glance: there's a hole in the roof, as if something crashed through with great force.
The agitated driver exits, carrying what looks like a silvery package. Once they put it down though, it's obvious that it's not a package - just a small, worryingly pale girl with pale blonde hair and a white coat. The driver looks even more agitated as they shout concerns at the tiny thing.
People are not around to see how the girl doesn't react, nor how it unnerves the driver so badly they climb back into the bus and make a U-turn without even looking for anyone at the stop.
Rachel just stands there, like a tiny, discarded doll, and nobody is there. Nobody decent, anyway.
So that, of course, means...]
[2. Exploring]
[Decent people will probably run into Ray wandering around town, not much worse for wear despite her weird arrival. She's mostly on the edges of town, in the less populated areas. The woods, for instance, or the edges of other farms. She might be near the stores and whatnot, but not often.
For such a tiny teenager, her eyes are surprisingly dead-looking. There's no emotion on her face, and it's probably a little unnerving to see!
Maybe it's for the best that she shies away from the more populated areas. She's only trying to familiarize herself with the layout, after all; she's not actively trying to spook people by wandering around and being herself in their midst.]

Really? How long will it take?
[She wants to be useful sooner rather than later, dang it!!]
no subject
[No sense beating around the bush with that one.]
I know Kojuro knows damn well what he's doing so if you can't follow his example that's on you.
no subject
I will do my best. I need to learn this, after all.
[For such an emotionless little spook, she kinda seems determined now.]
no subject
[At least determination is something. A thing Masamune can respect, at that. Alright, time to head off toward Bonten Farm, then.]
So. Some mysterious benefactor just gave you a whole big farm to yourself, right?
no subject
[...need to? Because it will get her closer to her goal? That's not quite right.]
... I would really like to repay and be of use to him, so that means learning to farm.
[She doesn't mention the part where the farm is overrun with weeds and stones and the house is in dire need of repairs. No point dealing with that when you don't know what to do with the cleared land!
She also doesn't seem to notice the tiny hint of a smile on her face at the thought of being useful.]
no subject
[So repaying that debt will help her spirit pass on, huh? Nice. He's totally got this! He'll do this good deed and then he'll have a cool story to tell later.]
Okay! By the time we're through with you, you'll have the best crops for miles around. Or... second-best, at least. Then you can rest nice and easy.
no subject
[She pauses and looks up at him, slightly bewildered.]
I’m not dead. I just got here last night.
[Though boy, does she ever wish...]
no subject
[THAT COMMENT ABOUT RESTING COULD HAVE BEEN ANYTHING, SHE'S ONTO HIM BEING ONTO HER... or maybe she just isn't a ghost after all. He's actually a little disappointed? Just when it looked like something interesting was happening in this nowheresville... Figures.]
-Yeah, I knew that. I meaaant it's going to be a lot of hard work. [Nice save.] And there's no quitting until it's over, you see?
no subject
[Even if that means being up at 2AM trying to break rocks, only to make useless yet adorable “doink doink” noises...!]
no subject
[OH, IF ONLY HE HAD ANY IDEA.
Anyway. They are finally at that final stretch of the journey where they turn the quaint little path leading to Bonten Farm, boasting quite the field of leeks and eggplants, among other things (probably?? KOJURO PLEASE BE COOKING OTHER THINGS TOO OR MASAMUNE IS OUTTIE). And, of course, a tiny farmhouse.
There's also a shadowy-looking crow chilling on one of the wooden fenceposts, and Masamune makes a wide shooing gesture at it. For whatever good that does or doesn't do.]
Get outta here already!
no subject
She tilts her head at the crow and watches it fly off. It's pretty -- and it's already gone. Odd. She looks up at Masamune with a confused expression.]
Why did you chase it away?
[Painfully obvious that this one's a city girl...]
no subject
[He's not much more of a farmer than she is, alas.]
Anyway... Looks like he's not out here. C'mon.
[Time to investigate THE FARMHOUSE. Which isn't going to need a thorough checking considering you can see inside the whole thing from the front door. HM.]
no subject
[So, not anyone she knows. Got it.
She nods, makes a noise of assent, and follows Masamune quietly. Though...not silently. Because she has legs and shoes and shoes make noise when moving.
SHE'S NOT A GHOST]
