This town was certainly different from Gotham City. Much smaller, and less Gothic, for one thing. Also, no Arkham Asylum or City, no fellow rogues, and best of all, no Batman.
Now that he was all settled in, it was time to do a little exploring. The nearby woods were sure to have plants and possibly insects that could be experimented with. What was a Scarecrow with only a meager supply of fear toxin?
Jonathan walked along the trail, a satchel across his shoulder, already filled with various herbs that he'd gathered. Even if he didn't have a laboratory set up, he could still run a few tests. He knelt by some purple flowers and began to harvest a few, mildly paying attention to his surroundings.
When he heard a twig snap, he looked up, "Who's there?"
The Library
Jonathan was glad this town had a library. He would have been beside himself if there wasn't anyplace to get books. Today he wore some civilian clothes, just a flannel shirt and jeans, though what probably stood out was the white mask that looked like it could have been stolen from a production of Phantom of the Opera. A temporary solution, for now.
He had quite a few books under his arm already, and was currently browsing the horror section. "Richard Matheson, always a good choice."
