A. Arrivals and Much More

You’re here because you were dropped somewhere that tried sending you home, or you're someone with a call to the heart to explore the vast universe. The buses run at odd schedules, so please pardon any interruptions! I hope you fellas make yourselves at home, here!

[ Marjorie’s whole speech rings through your ears as you begin to explore the area. It seems a few people who arrived on the TDM have already been here for a week, but you’re just a newcomer. So where are you when this all went down? Are you trying to get back on a bus that’ll take you home, or…?

B. Home Sweet Home

[ The dust has settled on the bus ride here, and you can’t help but notice that your farmland… well, it’s a mess. Rocks and grass everywhere, no matter which layout you were set with. You were given a set of tools, and the message that this land is yours to shape or change or build on no matter what you want, so long as it’s yours. The little crate by the edge of the house is what will hold your bounties from farming, collected nightly with money delivered to your mailbox the following day, like some kind of Produce Fairy visited.

The house is in alright shape. It’s not brilliant, but it has a kitchen, a bathroom, and a studio bedroom where all your belongings can be. It’s wide enough to accommodate several things until you upgrade it.

Sometimes you see a stray dog or cat at the edge of your property. Do you adopt it?

Anyway, it’s time to make what you will of your farm. ]

FESTIVAL PLAYLIST

[ Down a hill a little ways from Pelican Town is a remarkable festival set-up! Several attractions and vendors line the streets where everything is going down. Where will you go? ]

C. Food Stalls

[ Surrounding the entire property are dozens of food stalls, from all around the universe. Marjorie bussed in caterers from all around with a healthy sum of gold, and they’re happy to sell their wares in this strange place tonight. Where you might find octopus balls, you’ll also find kraken balls. Where you might find corndogs, you’ll find dogs selling corn.

It’s a veritable buffet! And the gold you’ve started with is more than enough to go shopping for food. Have fun! ]

D. Games

[ All manners of Carnival Games are set up! From throwing a baseball at bottles to catching goldfish with a paper net, everything you can dream of is here. There are even some unorthodox games, like dance-offs, karaoke, and a little bit of everything. Apparently, the NPC couldn’t choose who to go with what. It definitely makes for a big festival.

In addition to the above, there’s water gun races, squeaky duck ponds, skee-ball, target shooting, test your strength with a hammer, pitching speed, shooting hoops… and more! ]

E. Three-legged Race

[ You didn’t think this festival was going to go by without tomfoolery, did you? For the prize of 1,000 Gold, you can rally up a partner and get tied to them by the ankle, participating in a no-rules no-bars-held race. The winners will be randomized! But the real gift is going to be the fact that the ties around your ankles? Aren’t coming undone. You’re going to have to be tied together until 11 PM! ]

F. Fireworks

[ Errant magic and mishaps aside, you have to admit, the fireworks show at the end of it all is really something. Marjorie hired a pony for them, and the lights are as ethereal as they are non-traditional. It’s a good moment to snuggle up to someone or enjoy company with a new friend. ]

[Fortunately, Jeb hasn't gotten any food yet! Still, this fact doesn't exactly stop the foam-like bubbles from getting in his face. He takes it in stride though, even letting out a quiet laugh.

And to think, he hasn't even noticed whatever caused those bubbles yet!]

[Seeing it's the latest target hit, Bulle laughs at the poor boy. However, their victory was short-lived as Augustine managed to grab the mischievous frog before seeing what it has done.]

Mon Deiu! Are you okay?!

I'm fine! No harm done, I promise. No need to worry! [He smiles, finally noticing the one responsible for the bubbles.] Sorry if this is a weird thing to ask, but is your little prankster friend a Pokemon?

[He's no stranger to them, and even possibly seeing one makes him the rough-around-the-edges redhead that he had come to see as a brother.]

[Augustine's eyes widen when he mentions a word from his memories.]

Why yes. How do you know about Pokemon?

[Fortunately, Jeb's expecting that question to be asked!]

Before I came here, I was in another world different from my own. While I was there, I befriended someone who came from a world full of them. He called himself a "trainer."

[megabond]

Another world?

[Could it be where that Eifel-like tower and that large crystal structure be?]

[Jeb nods.]

Yes, both me and my friend were taken from our worlds to another one. The village we were in and the area surrounding it was called "Luceti." Needless to say, coming here isn't my first brush with otherworldly travel. [He laughs.] It was different from here, though.

[So from what he understands, he and his friend were spirited away and that Pokemon also existed in Luceti.]

Different, huh? Where is your friend right now?

[idealisticartist]

Different. Everyone was given wings in Luceti, for one thing. ...ah, but not ones big enough for flying. [A sheepish laugh -- he still remembers the impact with the ground when he tried them out upon first arriving there.] Everything was free there too, but I don't mind having to earn my keep here!

[He keeps the fact that it was slightly less peaceful to himself, at least for now.]

My friend went back to his world. That means he doesn't remember anything anymore, but... I'm sure that he'll be able to come to the same conclusions he did in Luceti back where he's from, too. Besides, I remember him -- that's enough. [And he can always hope that Silver finds his way here, too.]

Wings? If they are not usable for flight, I feel there might have different functions for the wings, correct?

[He raises his eyebrow regarding Jeb's explanation.]

So if anyone goes home from Luceti, they will lose their memories of their recent experience? I must say, that seems to be a strange side effect of sorts.

[idealisticartist]

[He nods.] Right. It was really important to keep those wings in good shape. ...bad things happened if they were removed.

[Bad things like death.]

Yes, if they go home they lose their memories. It happened to me, too -- I was taken home and spent a year there before returning, even if only a few hours passed in Luceti during that time. I didn't remember a thing until I returned. It must be due to what Marjorie explained to us, right? That we still need to fit into our "prime universe," and the memories we gain in these different worlds would prevent that. [A pause.] ...not everyone who returned to Luceti got their memories back, though. It was pretty strange.

[megabond]

[Augustine's eyes widen when he hears this.]

I think I understand what you meant. And I guess your wings disappeared when you left, correct?

[He then scratched his chin when he listens to Jeb's explanation.]

I see. I guess that is one way to make sure we didn't interfere with our memories intact.

[Guess that means he can't remember his time in Starhue when he gets back to Recolle.]

[idealisticartist]

Right. [He nods.] I didn't need them anymore, so it makes sense that I don't even have them here.

[The smile that tugs at his face is a guilty one.]

It makes me conflicted about going back. I know I need to eventually, but... I've experienced so much. It almost feels wrong to give all of those memories up. I guess what's why I ended up here -- something within me must have picked up on Marjorie's call, since I feel that way.

[megabond]

[Now that he thinks about it, maybe he is here for a reason. Maybe he might also answer that woman's call as well.]

I see. In fact, looking at this strange valley, I doubt nothing ever bad happens in here. We are just given farms to tend and help out the town, that's all.

[idealisticartist]

I'm hoping nothing bad happens here, too. I really want the people here to be able to be happy. [Forget his own happiness -- the happiness of others has always taken first priority to him.] And if this place stays peaceful, I think we should do our best to help each other as a community.

[megabond]

Speaking of community, I have to say this town is pretty small for it despite many more residents are coming here. It might be good if there are some schools and events like this to help us gather around like a real community.

[idealisticartist]

That's a great idea! I think it would help with making everyone more comfortable with each other, too.

[He pauses, as if coming to a sudden realization.]

Oh, I've been pretty rude this whole conversation. I haven't even introduced myself! I'm Jeb Parmalee, and it's very nice to meet you, sir!

[Augustine realizes that he's right. He is so focused on their conversation that he forgets to introduce himself as well.]

My name is Augustine Sauveterre. It's very nice to meet you as well, Jeb. I hope we can get along in the near future.

[So as long his frog doesn't do any more pranks to this poor lad.]

[Jeb gives Augustine an energetic nod.]

I'm sure we'll be able to! We seem to be getting along just fine now, after all.

[Augustine chuckles as he carries the blue frog on his arms.]

Well, I should try to discipline this little guy right now. If I don't, he might end up running away again.

[idealisticartist]

[He laughs and nods.]

All right! I'll see you around, then?

[He then waves goodbye to Jeb as he carries his frog to enjoy the rest of the festivities.]
