STARDROP CELEBRATION: FINAL DAY

LET'S PARTY!
premise | rules | taken | pick-up

A. Arrivals and Much More

You’re here because you were dropped somewhere that tried sending you home, or you're someone with a call to the heart to explore the vast universe. The buses run at odd schedules, so please pardon any interruptions! I hope you fellas make yourselves at home, here!

[ Marjorie’s whole speech rings through your ears as you begin to explore the area. It seems a few people who arrived on the TDM have already been here for a week, but you’re just a newcomer. So where are you when this all went down? Are you trying to get back on a bus that’ll take you home, or…?

B. Home Sweet Home

[ The dust has settled on the bus ride here, and you can’t help but notice that your farmland… well, it’s a mess. Rocks and grass everywhere, no matter which layout you were set with. You were given a set of tools, and the message that this land is yours to shape or change or build on no matter what you want, so long as it’s yours. The little crate by the edge of the house is what will hold your bounties from farming, collected nightly with money delivered to your mailbox the following day, like some kind of Produce Fairy visited.

The house is in alright shape. It’s not brilliant, but it has a kitchen, a bathroom, and a studio bedroom where all your belongings can be. It’s wide enough to accommodate several things until you upgrade it.

Sometimes you see a stray dog or cat at the edge of your property. Do you adopt it?

Anyway, it’s time to make what you will of your farm. ]

The Last Day Of
The Stardrop Celebration!

FESTIVAL PLAYLIST

[ Down a hill a little ways from Pelican Town is a remarkable festival set-up! Several attractions and vendors line the streets where everything is going down. Where will you go? ]

C. Food Stalls

[ Surrounding the entire property are dozens of food stalls, from all around the universe. Marjorie bussed in caterers from all around with a healthy sum of gold, and they’re happy to sell their wares in this strange place tonight. Where you might find octopus balls, you’ll also find kraken balls. Where you might find corndogs, you’ll find dogs selling corn.

It’s a veritable buffet! And the gold you’ve started with is more than enough to go shopping for food. Have fun! ]

D. Games

[ All manners of Carnival Games are set up! From throwing a baseball at bottles to catching goldfish with a paper net, everything you can dream of is here. There are even some unorthodox games, like dance-offs, karaoke, and a little bit of everything. Apparently, the NPC couldn’t choose who to go with what. It definitely makes for a big festival.

In addition to the above, there’s water gun races, squeaky duck ponds, skee-ball, target shooting, test your strength with a hammer, pitching speed, shooting hoops… and more! ]

E. Three-legged Race

[ You didn’t think this festival was going to go by without tomfoolery, did you? For the prize of 1,000 Gold, you can rally up a partner and get tied to them by the ankle, participating in a no-rules no-bars-held race. The winners will be randomized! But the real gift is going to be the fact that the ties around your ankles? Aren’t coming undone. You’re going to have to be tied together until 11 PM! ]

F. Fireworks

[ Errant magic and mishaps aside, you have to admit, the fireworks show at the end of it all is really something. Marjorie hired a pony for them, and the lights are as ethereal as they are non-traditional. It’s a good moment to snuggle up to someone or enjoy company with a new friend. ]

G. Wildcard

[ Exactly what it says! Make your own prompt. ]

[ OOC; Hello, everyone! This community is L I V E, from now on, you can make both network and action posts on this community, as well as use the notice board pinned to the top of the community! You're also welcome to make IC inboxes for one on one conversation and messaging! We hope you enjoy the community and if you need anything, please leave a note on the contact page! Thank you!

People who want to keep their CR from the test drive; you may! Your characters just arrived a little earlier than others! ]

Q'uila straightens up, gazing over the field with a proud smile. "We've done some good bloody work!" She walks over to Hunter and pats her on the shoulder. "Well done Hunter. I think you've earnt first crack at the shower." Q'uila stretches with a thoroughness that only the feline can manage, joints and back cracking and popping as she does so. "I'm going to examine the rocks and the soil, try and figure out what would be best to plant if that's what we decide on, if you need me just call okay?"

Q'uila goes and settles down in the shade, getting out her field-book and hand lens and engrossing herself in the work. After a while she becomes aware of the sound of one of the many creatures living around the farm sneaking up behind her, followed by a paw batting at her tail which had been lazily curling about behind her. Rolling her eyes and continuing to examine the rock through her handlense she feels the paw bat at her tail a few more times before ceasing.

Crinkle

Q'uila's gaze darts to the side at the sound of the pages of her fieldbook being scrunched up only to find a very large, very fluffy cat sat on top of it. The cat was currently grooming its long, patterned fur as though it had always been sat there, focusing its efforts on its long, bottle-brush tail. However, as soon as it realised it had Q'uila's attention it ceased, padding over to her on large paws, rumbling with a load purr and insistently rubbing it's face against her hands, marking her and demanding to be stroked in equal measure.

"...I'm calling you Felih..."

She looks up at the barking, the cat newly christened Felih nonplussed at the noise. "I see you've found yourself a furry friend too Hunter."

The beagle seemed to really like the attention, licking at Hunter's hands as she tried to pet him. He still seemed to be young, maybe only a year or so old. He started to yap at her happily, causing her to draw her hand away quickly out of reflex, then ran circles around Hunter before headbutting her shins in excitement. Some part of her softened. "I think the name Gilbert shall suit you fine. The first man I talked to after the transfusion, and probably the closest thing I had to a friend." The dog barked and wagged his tail.

Hunter's attention was drawn to Q'uila, who seemed to have attracted the other little creature that had been romping on their land. "Apparently that is the case. I have decided to name him Gilbert after a man I met back where I came from." If Q'uila paid attention she would see how Hunter was overly cautious she was with the puppy despite how friendly he was. "Do you have a name picked out for yours?"

After Q'uila explained the cat's name Hunter, she couldn't help but share a thought that crossed her mind. "I am sure that I could train Gilbert to signal if someone were to enter our land. Is that too paranoid? I would not train him to attack anyone." Hunter knew that her understanding of the world was not sound and had already realized that her world was definitely not an accurate way to gauge others. Q'uila seemed to have a good head on her shoulders and seemed able to help Hunter discern what was and was not reasonable.

Q'uila continues the pet the purring, fluffy tank of a cat in her lap as she smiles up at Hunter, "A good a reason to name a dog as any. He's very lovely. As for this purring ball of fluff...Im naming her Felih after my brother, their personalities are too eerily similar for me not to."

Q'uila assesses Gilbert briefly before looking back up at Hunter, smile now reassuring," I see no issue with that, most farms I know of have some sort of guard. And if we end up with livestock then he can act as a warning for predators as well."

"That is a good name, then." Hunter wondered what it was like to have a sibling, and was also warily curious about the cat. Most of the beasts from her world were more similar to canines.

The approval of training Gilbert to warn for strangers and predators confirmed to Hunter she wasn't being too paranoid about it. She knew nothing of how to train animals but she was confident she could figure it out - maybe ask some of the people in town if they had any tips on it.

"I think I am going to go ahead and go to town and pick up some food for the animals and maybe poke around the festivities for a while. Would you want to walk down with me or did you have anything you wished to wrap up here first before heading to town?"

Q'uila stands up from the ground as Felih twines around her ankles, gathering up her bits and pieces and dusting herself off. "I've got what I need to start and the rest can wait till later. I think I shall join you."

With no effort, Q'uila sweeps up the large, meowing ball of fur, smiling indulgently as the large cat crawls out of her grasp and settles across her shoulders. "Shall we head off?"

Hunter watched Q'uila pick up the large cat and put it on her shoulders - such a bond already. She had a hard time understanding how they could already be fast friends. Gilbert had settled into sitting next to Hunter, tail wagging excitedly at whatever was about to happen. Hunter gave Q'uila a small nod and headed in the direction of town, walking at a somewhat leisurely pace. Gilbert hopped up and followed after them cheerily.

The two made their way into town and did their shopping and mingling, though Hunter (at least) left early to drop the pet food off at home and put it out for the animals.
