STARDROP CELEBRATION: FINAL DAY

LET'S PARTY!
premise | rules | taken | pick-up

A. Arrivals and Much More

You’re here because you were dropped somewhere that tried sending you home, or you're someone with a call to the heart to explore the vast universe. The buses run at odd schedules, so please pardon any interruptions! I hope you fellas make yourselves at home, here!

[ Marjorie’s whole speech rings through your ears as you begin to explore the area. It seems a few people who arrived on the TDM have already been here for a week, but you’re just a newcomer. So where are you when this all went down? Are you trying to get back on a bus that’ll take you home, or…?

B. Home Sweet Home

[ The dust has settled on the bus ride here, and you can’t help but notice that your farmland… well, it’s a mess. Rocks and grass everywhere, no matter which layout you were set with. You were given a set of tools, and the message that this land is yours to shape or change or build on no matter what you want, so long as it’s yours. The little crate by the edge of the house is what will hold your bounties from farming, collected nightly with money delivered to your mailbox the following day, like some kind of Produce Fairy visited.

The house is in alright shape. It’s not brilliant, but it has a kitchen, a bathroom, and a studio bedroom where all your belongings can be. It’s wide enough to accommodate several things until you upgrade it.

Sometimes you see a stray dog or cat at the edge of your property. Do you adopt it?

Anyway, it’s time to make what you will of your farm. ]

The Last Day Of
The Stardrop Celebration!

FESTIVAL PLAYLIST

[ Down a hill a little ways from Pelican Town is a remarkable festival set-up! Several attractions and vendors line the streets where everything is going down. Where will you go? ]

C. Food Stalls

[ Surrounding the entire property are dozens of food stalls, from all around the universe. Marjorie bussed in caterers from all around with a healthy sum of gold, and they’re happy to sell their wares in this strange place tonight. Where you might find octopus balls, you’ll also find kraken balls. Where you might find corndogs, you’ll find dogs selling corn.

It’s a veritable buffet! And the gold you’ve started with is more than enough to go shopping for food. Have fun! ]

D. Games

[ All manners of Carnival Games are set up! From throwing a baseball at bottles to catching goldfish with a paper net, everything you can dream of is here. There are even some unorthodox games, like dance-offs, karaoke, and a little bit of everything. Apparently, the NPC couldn’t choose who to go with what. It definitely makes for a big festival.

In addition to the above, there’s water gun races, squeaky duck ponds, skee-ball, target shooting, test your strength with a hammer, pitching speed, shooting hoops… and more! ]

E. Three-legged Race

[ You didn’t think this festival was going to go by without tomfoolery, did you? For the prize of 1,000 Gold, you can rally up a partner and get tied to them by the ankle, participating in a no-rules no-bars-held race. The winners will be randomized! But the real gift is going to be the fact that the ties around your ankles? Aren’t coming undone. You’re going to have to be tied together until 11 PM! ]

F. Fireworks

[ Errant magic and mishaps aside, you have to admit, the fireworks show at the end of it all is really something. Marjorie hired a pony for them, and the lights are as ethereal as they are non-traditional. It’s a good moment to snuggle up to someone or enjoy company with a new friend. ]

G. Wildcard

[ Exactly what it says! Make your own prompt. ]

[ OOC; Hello, everyone! This community is L I V E, from now on, you can make both network and action posts on this community, as well as use the notice board pinned to the top of the community! [ Belias gave a soft nod, lifting their mask a little to... devour it, in a single bite - after taking it with one of their massive arms.

Afterwards, however, they sat next to Scrooge - giving a small nod. ]
You know these creatures, then?

[ There are no sheep in Ivalice that Belias has seen. ]
moneymatters: (A good laugh)

[personal profile] moneymatters 2018-06-17 05:35 am (UTC)(link)
[And he returns to cutting up apples for the sheep, but after leaving a whole one balanced on the fence for Belias to take, if they so wished.]

Not strictly, no. But I've always had a way with animals, and if I befriend a few o' these sheep now, I could get them for me farm later. And when I do that, I can sell wool goods down the line!

[A satisfied chuckle; seems he has this all worked out. Sure he'll have to learn how to hand make things from wool, but he's never been afraid of putting in effort for money.]

[ Befriending them for his own means. Not enslaving them. Belias seems pleased with that, taking another apple - but trying to act a little more polite. Looking out to them - before turning back to the duck.

And pausing, for a moment. ]
You may craft goods from this... wool? [ Belias said, touching some of their own. There is a lot of it. ] I imagine that shall be a good use of this free land.

[ ...They have their own farm. Perhaps there will be use for it later, but for now, Belias is simply seeking others. Seeking a purpose. ]
moneymatters: (And if you'd care to take a dare)

[personal profile] moneymatters 2018-06-17 05:58 am (UTC)(link)
Oh ayyye, aye. Wool's got plenty o' uses.

[He'll mentally count off on his fingers, as his actual hands are a bit busy.]

You can spin it into yarn t'make clothing, it's good for blankets and insulation, and you can even use it for stuffing chairs and the like.

I admit I'm a fair bit more experienced with cattle, but I've had some time with sheep under my belt in the past.

[You've got to know at least some to be sure that the owners of your smaller ventures aren't cheating you, and that goes for Scrooge's sheep farms just as it does anything else he has.]

[ You've got a fascinated Gigas here - Belias lets out a satisfied snort, listening to this. Would his be useful...? No, Belias cannot let himself simply follow those who show kindness.

For a being as old as him, Belias tends to trust far too easily. A flaw he doesn't work on solving. ]

The closest I've been to cattle is feasting on them. [ Belias does admit, however, pausing before admitting a little more. ] Long ago, when I thought I required food. I imagine they would make for other creatures Man would farm.

[ ...Belias uses Man as a stand-in for beings who are sentient. It seems a few of the fed sheep are coming close to the Esper, however. ]
moneymatters: (Watch me work.)

[Bits of his wording got a curious glance up from Scrooge, but he didn't press. If anything it only cemented suspicions he was having. One eye was kept on the wandering sheep, but they didn't seem to mean any harm.]

I used to herd cattle when I was a teenager. Back on the open plains o' the wild frontier.

[And he swept a hand in front of him.]

Ridin' hard with just me and the other cowboys, defending against gun-totin' thieves one day, and hungry coyotes the next. Some o' the best days of my life, those.

[personal profile] sheepdad 2018-06-17 06:35 am (UTC)(link)
[ They truly didn't - Belias had the softest expression as they sat, their body relaxing a little. So this duck was not simply a farmer - that made the Esper seem even more friendly.

But Belias can't help but chuckle. ]
For a time, I traveled with Men that were called thieves, of the sky. They were more treasure seekers, however. Adventures - they truly are the best parts of life.

[ Oh, Belias misses them. There's nostalgia in those words, a kindness in that twisted voice. After a moment, he nodded to himself. ] Our-- my name is Belias.
moneymatters: (Tell your tale)

[personal profile] moneymatters 2018-06-17 07:00 am (UTC)(link)
[He'd been smiling before, but he positively lit up at that, even adding in a warm, hearty laugh.]

I'd have to agree with you there! Adventures are indeed the best parts o' life.

My name's Scrooge McDuck.

[personal profile] sheepdad 2018-06-17 07:12 am (UTC)(link)
A pity most adventurers see me as a beast - else perhaps I would have continued that path. [ Belias snorted, nodding a little. ] At least, in this realm, there will be far less Men trying to defeat me.

[ Belias hopes, at least. There's been so many fighting him, he wants a break!

...Well, okay, Belias feels good enough to joke about it. ]

Thinking they can slaughter an immortal is a little amusing.
moneymatters: (Think nothing of it)

[personal profile] moneymatters 2018-06-17 07:21 am (UTC)(link)
[He snickered a bit, resting his arms on top of the fence.]

Aye, I've seen a little o' that in me own world, with the immortals I've passed in my travels.

Well rest assured I've got no interest in defeating you or anyone like you. [Said with a wry smile; he means it honestly, but he's not above putting a little humor of his own into it.] I'm just here to relax for a while, maybe reconnect with my love of building businesses from scratch.
sheepdad: (4)

[personal profile] sheepdad 2018-06-17 07:29 am (UTC)(link)
[ Oh. That means a lot to Belias, but he can't show it. Not yet. Tail beginning to flick a little - a bit like a dog - Belias paused. ]

A rest, to get back to basics. That sounds... nice. Perhaps that shall be what I do. [ However, Belias looks to this duck again. Pondering. Even if it's only a new trust, it is still trust. ] I have a request.
moneymatters: (Hmm? Yes what is it?)

[personal profile] moneymatters 2018-06-17 07:36 am (UTC)(link)
[He nodded, acknowledging the shared sentiment, though the next part had him looking up quite curiously.]

Oh? What is it?
sheepdad: (4)

[personal profile] sheepdad 2018-06-17 07:37 am (UTC)(link)
You are able to... have these sheep remove their coats, correct? I would like that, as well.

[ He sounds so awkward! ]
moneymatters: (Conversation)

[personal profile] moneymatters 2018-06-17 07:41 am (UTC)(link)
[He seemed momentarily surprised; of anything he might've been expecting, that wasn't it. But he smiled after a moment, and nodded.]

Aye! I could do that for ye fair well enough.
sheepdad: (3)

[personal profile] sheepdad 2018-06-17 07:56 am (UTC)(link)
[ Belias didn't expect a yes - but seems pleased, with a few cheery grunts. ]

Where I came from, I imagine there were ones who would do it - but I am feared. [ Belias explained, afterwards. ] You may do what you desire with the wool.
moneymatters: (Business opportunity)

[personal profile] moneymatters 2018-06-26 06:17 am (UTC)(link)
[A light snort from him, though not unkindly.]

I've seen a bit too much to fear anythin' like you.

[No offense meant, of course.]

I'm sure I'll find plenty to do with the wool.
sheepdad: (2)

[personal profile] sheepdad 2018-06-26 02:21 pm (UTC)(link)
[ That makes Belias laugh a little - in that dark way the sheep-beast seems prone to. ]

That's good. Far too often, beasts run from things like me. Even if they do not look like Hume and their ilk.
