STARDROP CELEBRATION: FINAL DAY

LET'S PARTY!
premise | rules | taken | pick-up

A. Arrivals and Much More

You’re here because you were dropped somewhere that tried sending you home, or you're someone with a call to the heart to explore the vast universe. The buses run at odd schedules, so please pardon any interruptions! I hope you fellas make yourselves at home, here!

[ Marjorie’s whole speech rings through your ears as you begin to explore the area. It seems a few people who arrived on the TDM have already been here for a week, but you’re just a newcomer. So where are you when this all went down? Are you trying to get back on a bus that’ll take you home, or…?

B. Home Sweet Home

[ The dust has settled on the bus ride here, and you can’t help but notice that your farmland… well, it’s a mess. Rocks and grass everywhere, no matter which layout you were set with. You were given a set of tools, and the message that this land is yours to shape or change or build on no matter what you want, so long as it’s yours. The little crate by the edge of the house is what will hold your bounties from farming, collected nightly with money delivered to your mailbox the following day, like some kind of Produce Fairy visited.

The house is in alright shape. It’s not brilliant, but it has a kitchen, a bathroom, and a studio bedroom where all your belongings can be. It’s wide enough to accommodate several things until you upgrade it.

Sometimes you see a stray dog or cat at the edge of your property. Do you adopt it?

Anyway, it’s time to make what you will of your farm. ]

The Last Day Of
The Stardrop Celebration!

FESTIVAL PLAYLIST

[ Down a hill a little ways from Pelican Town is a remarkable festival set-up! Several attractions and vendors line the streets where everything is going down. Where will you go? ]

C. Food Stalls

[ Surrounding the entire property are dozens of food stalls, from all around the universe. Marjorie bussed in caterers from all around with a healthy sum of gold, and they’re happy to sell their wares in this strange place tonight. Where you might find octopus balls, you’ll also find kraken balls. Where you might find corndogs, you’ll find dogs selling corn.

It’s a veritable buffet! And the gold you’ve started with is more than enough to go shopping for food. Have fun! ]

D. Games

[ All manners of Carnival Games are set up! From throwing a baseball at bottles to catching goldfish with a paper net, everything you can dream of is here. There are even some unorthodox games, like dance-offs, karaoke, and a little bit of everything. Apparently, the NPC couldn’t choose who to go with what. It definitely makes for a big festival.

In addition to the above, there’s water gun races, squeaky duck ponds, skee-ball, target shooting, test your strength with a hammer, pitching speed, shooting hoops… and more! ]

E. Three-legged Race

[ You didn’t think this festival was going to go by without tomfoolery, did you? For the prize of 1,000 Gold, you can rally up a partner and get tied to them by the ankle, participating in a no-rules no-bars-held race. The winners will be randomized! But the real gift is going to be the fact that the ties around your ankles? Aren’t coming undone. You’re going to have to be tied together until 11 PM! ]

F. Fireworks

[ Errant magic and mishaps aside, you have to admit, the fireworks show at the end of it all is really something. Marjorie hired a pony for them, and the lights are as ethereal as they are non-traditional. It’s a good moment to snuggle up to someone or enjoy company with a new friend. ]

G. Wildcard

[ Exactly what it says! Make your own prompt. ]

[ OOC; Hello, everyone! This community is L I V E, from now on, you can make both network and action posts on this community, as well as use the notice board pinned to the top of the community! [B.]
[This is certainly an interesting situation. He'd come out of curiosity, and found an idyllic little setting here. It reminded him of better days in his past, especially on finding his designated farmland contained a lot of perfect space for mining. Not too much for actual farming or animal raising, but he'd make do.

And that "making do" would start with clearing some of the space around the farmhouse. But he's just a short old man, clearly he'd need help, right?]

[D.]
"Come try your luck with a trick shot!"

[Scrooge had been checking out the assorted games when one of the barkers caught his attention. He almost didn't approach- these things were notoriously rigged, and he didn't expect being in a different world to change anything--]

"First round's free!"

[--until the man said that. "Free" always WAS his favorite word. He walked over and hopped up onto a stool by the counter, hooking his cane on his elbow to keep it nearby.]

Alright, laddie. Let's measure up.

[He's handed the gun and spends a moment or two looking it over, getting used to its heft in his hands, checking the sights. His experience may be with old Colts, but a pellet gun shouldn't be too hard. He measures up, the attendant is trying to hide a smirk at the aged duck squinting down the line of his beak through his glasses, Scrooge fires a shot-

PING. The first target goes down. Then the next. And the next. Scrooge's aim was spot on for all the shots he took, and by the time he handed the gun back, the attendant was staring at him in surprise.]

"Er. Pick a prize then, sir."

[Well. He didn't want one, but perhaps there was someone nearby who had been watching. He hooks the first elbow that comes close enough- probably yours -and gestures somewhat impatiently at the hanging prizes.]

G'on. Take one.

[And then hops down to continue on his merry way.]

[F.]
[Scrooge is somewhat at the edge of the crowd, idly eating a snack from a nearby stall. He was staring up at the fireworks but mostly seemed to be thinking, his eyes somewhat unfocused. A little company might be nice, though.]

Whaaat? No way! Okay-- I'll take the giant stuffed Shrimp!

[ It's a little hyperrealistic for her taste, but she'll gladly take the curly stuffed animal and hop her way after the duck. With all the sea creatures that live in Inkopolis Square, she's not really that surprised to see a duck at all. ]

Hey, hey--! You didn't even tell me your name!
moneymatters: (Eh?)

[He glanced back over his shoulder but didn't stop, though at least his pace was easily matchable.]

Scrooge McDuck.

[Arietta is out and about early in the morning with a mission to forage wild herbs and fruits in the forest to be shipped later. Accompanied by one liger, she walked down the road and passed by Scrooge's farm. The place is so peaceful, she didn't mind the people here. They are nice and most of them didn't mind her clan of ligers either.

Her liger lifted his head and sniffed, and they saw...well, an elderly duck struggling to clear out his farm. There are dead logs and rocks blocking the way for necessary land to till the soil and grow land. The liger waited behind, while Arietta stepped forward.]

Excuse me sir, but do you need help? I can help you. I don't mind. What do you need help with? I can help you clear rocks if you can't lift a mallet and my liger can help you clear the logs.

[He had heard them coming, but hadn't looked up from his work of stacking some debris. These rocks could be repurposed into pathways, and this wood would have a hundred uses...

Only when she spoke did he look up, eyes briefly glancing at the liger and then back at her. Standing, he swiped a handkerchief across his forehead, then offered a smile.]

Aye, I could use a little assistance! Some o' this stuff's a wee bit too big for me to handle quickly, at least with this equipment.

[A gesture nearby where a wood axe and a pickaxe were leaning against a large boulder. They were sturdy, but definitely... old.]
fiery_liger: (Worried; wary of changes)

Let see what we can do.

[Smiling back, Arietta went to inspect the tools of an axe and ax pick...but they're large and too heavy for her to lift. Arietta is strong, but still dainty for a girl's hands to pick up and make an impact.]

Ah...too heavy lift...I don't think I can lift these...

[Still, she can help out with the rest! With her and the strength of her liger, they cleared out the old rotting logs by pushing them aside, move and lifted the boulders to the other side and put them in a pile, and cut out the weeds with the scythe. They cannot clear all of it, but they cleared a lot for Scrooge, and thereby, they really helped saved his strength with their combined energy. Scrooge may have to find help from others to clear the rest who are much stronger, but Arietta did her part.

When they're done, with a smile, she wiped her sweaty brow with her sleeve.]

Does this help, mister? My name is Arietta, by the way. I hope this helps!
moneymatters: (Yes that's correct)

[personal profile] moneymatters 2018-06-26 06:23 am (UTC)(link)
[He kept an eye on her, smiling to himself at her attempts with the tools. Together they all worked to help clear the land, and by the end of it there indeed was quite a lot accomplished. That liger was certainly handy to have around, wasn't it? Though anyone paying attention to Scrooge himself might notice he'd cleared a lot for being an apparently old, feeble duck.

He wiped his own brow with his handkerchief, leaning on the handle of the pickaxe, fresh from breaking up a few of the stones into smaller ones. Resting his other hand on his hip, he looked up with a bright smile.]

The name's Scrooge McDuck, and it helps plenty, thank you Arietta!
fiery_liger: (Following you)

[Arietta wiped the sweat off her brow with her handkerchief. It was a hot day, and the day has just getting started, but she has other work to do. But she felt really good helping another person out and it's rewarding, seeing his gratitude for her help. With a laugh, she smiled at him.]

Is that really your name? Scrooge McDuck...well, I'm glad to help out and it's nice to meet you, Mr. McDuck. I hope this helps. [Eying the cleared land, which now looks much better, and that will give Scrooge more time to plan out what he wanted to grow. Looks like he'll be good from here, so her help is done.] Me and my liger, we have to get going.
