STARDROP CELEBRATION: FINAL DAY

LET'S PARTY!
premise | rules | taken | pick-up
A. Arrivals and Much More
You’re here because you were dropped somewhere that tried sending you home, or you're someone with a call to the heart to explore the vast universe. The buses run at odd schedules, so please pardon any interruptions! I hope you fellas make yourselves at home, here!
[ Marjorie’s whole speech rings through your ears as you begin to explore the area. It seems a few people who arrived on the TDM have already been here for a week, but you’re just a newcomer. So where are you when this all went down? Are you trying to get back on a bus that’ll take you home, or…?
B. Home Sweet Home
[ The dust has settled on the bus ride here, and you can’t help but notice that your farmland… well, it’s a mess. Rocks and grass everywhere, no matter which layout you were set with. You were given a set of tools, and the message that this land is yours to shape or change or build on no matter what you want, so long as it’s yours. The little crate by the edge of the house is what will hold your bounties from farming, collected nightly with money delivered to your mailbox the following day, like some kind of Produce Fairy visited.
The house is in alright shape. It’s not brilliant, but it has a kitchen, a bathroom, and a studio bedroom where all your belongings can be. It’s wide enough to accommodate several things until you upgrade it.
Sometimes you see a stray dog or cat at the edge of your property. Do you adopt it?
Anyway, it’s time to make what you will of your farm. ]

The Stardrop Celebration!
C. Food Stalls
[ Surrounding the entire property are dozens of food stalls, from all around the universe. Marjorie bussed in caterers from all around with a healthy sum of gold, and they’re happy to sell their wares in this strange place tonight. Where you might find octopus balls, you’ll also find kraken balls. Where you might find corndogs, you’ll find dogs selling corn.
It’s a veritable buffet! And the gold you’ve started with is more than enough to go shopping for food. Have fun! ]
D. Games
[ All manners of Carnival Games are set up! From throwing a baseball at bottles to catching goldfish with a paper net, everything you can dream of is here. There are even some unorthodox games, like dance-offs, karaoke, and a little bit of everything. Apparently, the NPC couldn’t choose who to go with what. It definitely makes for a big festival.
In addition to the above, there’s water gun races, squeaky duck ponds, skee-ball, target shooting, test your strength with a hammer, pitching speed, shooting hoops… and more! ]
E. Three-legged Race
[ You didn’t think this festival was going to go by without tomfoolery, did you? For the prize of 1,000 Gold, you can rally up a partner and get tied to them by the ankle, participating in a no-rules no-bars-held race. The winners will be randomized! But the real gift is going to be the fact that the ties around your ankles? Aren’t coming undone. You’re going to have to be tied together until 11 PM! ]
F. Fireworks
[ Errant magic and mishaps aside, you have to admit, the fireworks show at the end of it all is really something. Marjorie hired a pony for them, and the lights are as ethereal as they are non-traditional. It’s a good moment to snuggle up to someone or enjoy company with a new friend. ]
G. Wildcard
[ Exactly what it says! Make your own prompt. ]

[Mithos Yggdrasill has been alive for over four thousand years.
Despite this, he has the awed and impressed expression that one would expect from someone who looks his age as he takes a look at all the strange and unusual food vendors. He doesn't even entirely know what he's paid for and about to try, but he sure is looking forward to trying it! He's even turned on his sense of taste for the occasion.
...this proves to be a mistake, as whatever he's put in his mouth proves to be way too spicy for him to handle. He's so focused on how much it burns that he doesn't even consider just using his Cruxis Crystal to block out his sense of taste again. Will you take pity on him and try to help him out?]
D
[Despite the spicy food incident, Mithos is still enjoying everything like the child he hasn't been allowed to be for several millennia. Sure, trying the food had been a colossal mistake, but surely the games will yield better results.
They do, in fact. For the longest time, Mithos can be found trying out all the various games, even managing to build up a small collection of prizes in the process.]
G
[Wildcard!]
D
Ehhhhh, you're really good at this sort of thing, aren't you...
no subject
Ah, not really... [This girl seems human, and that's enough to make Mithos slightly uncomfortable. He knows that not only can some humans be truly kind, but that he's also in a different world where discrimination against those who are different doesn't appear to exist, but old habitss die hard.] I'm getting lucky, that's all.
no subject
If anything, though, she seems cheered up by his reticence. ]
Ehhh, it's not always just that! Luck can count for a lot, but it's skill that'll carry you! Skill! Luck is more like a... you walk by and suddenly the grand prize just falls into your arms! --Sort of thing.
no subject
Hah, if you say so... [He laughs quietly. Nonhuman or not, her insistence on his skill is enough to fluster him -- he's never quite learned to take compliments.] Do you ever play these sort of games yourself?
no subject
[ There'd been that one small festival at Arden Grove, but she hadn't really been up for doing a lot at the time. The one game she'd tried, she'd flubbed half on purpose and half out of nerves.
But that had been a while ago! She's feeling better now! And since she is, she can hopefully spread some of that to others. And to her, he just seems like a bit of a shy boy, nothing more dramatic than that. ]
Ahh, but to be honest, I usually got my p-- my partner to play them instead. I'd cheer him on! But I think he liked showing off, and I liked supporting him. So it was still fun!
no subject
[He can't help but smile as she explains. The dynamic she speaks of, with one person enjoying showing off while the other enjoys being the support... it reminds him of Lloyd and Colette. Maybe a little of Yuan and Martel as well, thousands of years ago, during Yuan's attempts to impress her. Both examples cause a ping of sadness in his chest for vastly different reasons, but the smile remains on his face. Despite them being tainted, the memories that fill his head are still happy ones.]
Are the two of you close? You and your partner.
no subject
[ Her own expression softens completely when she says that. Once upon a time, it had been too embarrassingly thrilling to call Kyousuke her partner just to herself, let alone to others. Sometimes things change for the better.
On the other hand, while she might be overall less embarrassed, she does still fidget a little, not unlike a schoolgirl talking about her first crush.
That is also not inaccurate, let's be honest.]There's two of them, actually -- they're my best friends. I couldn't imagine living without them.
no subject
[There's a certain sadness to his voice, and his smile no longer reaches his eyes. People she can't imagine living without... he certainly knows what that's like. While he's lived without his sister for thousands of years, he can't really describe it as truly living. "Existing," perhaps.]
You're lucky to have them, so remember to always cherish them.
no subject
[ Because for a while, she hadn't. Not really -- her love had become twisted and warped with the rest of her. It's amazing, the perspective that the afterlife can give you.
There's a few seconds where her smile isn't sad, but it hovers between that and something more rueful. ]
Ah, but that's a little bit gloomy, isn't it? On a night like this, it shouldn't be allowed!
no subject
[He knows he should be having fun, but it's difficult with the weight that's always upon him. It's probably good that he's getting reminded.]
So, what have you been doing this evening?
no subject
[ She puts on a brighter face and tone of voice for that. It's not the best front, but it's at least an honest effort. After saying something like that, she also has to try and be cheerful! ]
There's a~ll sorts of foods I haven't seen for a while! And some new stuff, too! So of course I had to see what they were like.
no subject
I see. I did a little bit of that myself earlier, though it ended up not being the best idea I've ever had. [He lets out an awkward little laugh.]
no subject
[ She ducks a little to get a better look at his face. It's an exaggerated gesture, openly telegraphed, her tail swishing. A schoolgirl's gesture, like she'd done to her (much taller) friends in school. ]
Not the best idea, huh... sour? Or spicy?
no subject
...spicy. [He scratches his cheek.] I didn't know ahead of time, and I've never been all that good with spicy food.
[How embarrassing to admit.]
no subject
[ She clucks her tongue, smiling a little. ]
Munakata-kun -- ah, one of my partners -- always complains about it too. He can handle it fine, but he thinks it's, ah, how does he put it...
[ She clears her throat before trying to pitch her voice lower. It's not great, but it should at least get the idea across. ] "It's just trying to hide a lack of culinary skill behind overwhelming flavor." [ And then, ] ...or something like that! He's pretty particular.
no subject
[He's mostly asking to avoid having to talk much about himself.]
no subject
[ She blurts that out almost immediately, then looks slightly abashed, like a kid doing something she knows is naughty. Chisa's spent many years being restrained about her relationship -- first with the awkwardness with their mutual best friend, and then out of a sense of propriety -- but you know, after the apocalypse and dying and then not being dead and worldhopping, that kind of wears away at one's self control sometimes. ]
He, ah... we met in high school. It wasn't love at first sight! But I guess it was almost that. Close enough! He was just always really cool and confident, but he was also always really nice to me. And he had a vision of the future I could really believe in, so... before I knew it, I fell pretty hard.
[ Luckily (or unluckily?) for him, once she gets going about the people she loves, it's hard for her to put the breaks on. She's at least trying not to babble endlessly at once, at least! ]
no subject
A vision of the future... [Well, for the most part. There's something about that part that makes Mithos dwell on it. Maybe it's because it reminds him of Lloyd. Of himself, before everything fell apart.] It must have been a good vision, to make someone as kind as you seem to be 'fall pretty hard.'
[Of course, he knows that people can be far different than they appear to be. He hasn't really dropped his guard that much due to it. Still, there's always that hope that someone he meets is as genuine as they come off as.]
no subject
[ She laughs at that, flapping one hand and pressing the other to her face. Her cheeks are definitely pink, but she's smiling helplessly. The compliment is enough to make her visibly pleased, but it's still so, so easy to derail her into talking about her boyfriend. Oops. ]
He was really dedicated and devoted... he wanted to make a world where everyone could be happy and successful, where anyone could be anything they wanted! And you know, I really thought he could do it.
I still do, though we're mostly focused on getting our lives together, first.
no subject
I'm sure he can do it. [He's not actually sure, but he wants to believe. He wants to grasp onto some scrap of what he used to wholeheartedly believe -- that someone could make a difference. Even if he failed, even if he's a tad envious of the fact that others could succeed when he couldn't, he wants to encourage it.] Just keep believing in him, even as the two of you get your lives together. And be careful -- don't let anything happen to him, and don't let anything happen to you.
[Part of him hates that he feels obligated to tack that last bit on, but he knows what can happen when even the most idealistic of people loses someone close.]

Smiling, and not wanting to embarrass him, she holds out a bottle of strawberry milk. She had been hoping to use this to bribe a friend into playing with her later, but he probably needs it more.]
You're pretty brave to eat it all in one bite, kiddo.
no subject
It's not like he has much choice, with how much his mouth is burning. He has to take his chances. He finally takes the strawberry milk from her, consuming half the bottle in one go. ...ah, it's actually pretty pleasant tasting!]
...thank you. For the drink. I don't think what I did was all that brave. [Foolish is a better word for it, in his opinion.]
no subject
You tried something new! Lots of people are too scared to try new experiences, even if it's just good. So-- [Thumbs up!] Unless? You knew it was spicy and tried it anyway... Which is still brave. [Second thumb up.]
no subject
If you put it that way, then I suppose it was brave. [He still doesn't fully believe it, and it probably shows. He's simply not good at taking compliments.] Maybe it was worth the new experience.
[Now that he absolutely doesn't believe, one hundred percent. He just can't bring himself to stomp on her enthusiasm.]
