You’re here because you were dropped somewhere that tried sending you home, or you're someone with a call to the heart to explore the vast universe. The buses run at odd schedules, so please pardon any interruptions! I hope you fellas make yourselves at home, here!

[ Marjorie’s whole speech rings through your ears as you begin to explore the area. It seems a few people who arrived on the TDM have already been here for a week, but you’re just a newcomer. So where are you when this all went down? Are you trying to get back on a bus that’ll take you home, or…?

B. Home Sweet Home

[ The dust has settled on the bus ride here, and you can’t help but notice that your farmland… well, it’s a mess. Rocks and grass everywhere, no matter which layout you were set with. You were given a set of tools, and the message that this land is yours to shape or change or build on no matter what you want, so long as it’s yours. The little crate by the edge of the house is what will hold your bounties from farming, collected nightly with money delivered to your mailbox the following day, like some kind of Produce Fairy visited.

The house is in alright shape. It’s not brilliant, but it has a kitchen, a bathroom, and a studio bedroom where all your belongings can be. It’s wide enough to accommodate several things until you upgrade it.

Sometimes you see a stray dog or cat at the edge of your property. Do you adopt it?

Anyway, it’s time to make what you will of your farm. ]

FESTIVAL PLAYLIST

[ Down a hill a little ways from Pelican Town is a remarkable festival set-up! Several attractions and vendors line the streets where everything is going down. Where will you go? ]

C. Food Stalls

[ Surrounding the entire property are dozens of food stalls, from all around the universe. Marjorie bussed in caterers from all around with a healthy sum of gold, and they’re happy to sell their wares in this strange place tonight. Where you might find octopus balls, you’ll also find kraken balls. Where you might find corndogs, you’ll find dogs selling corn.

It’s a veritable buffet! And the gold you’ve started with is more than enough to go shopping for food. Have fun! ]

D. Games

[ All manners of Carnival Games are set up! From throwing a baseball at bottles to catching goldfish with a paper net, everything you can dream of is here. There are even some unorthodox games, like dance-offs, karaoke, and a little bit of everything. Apparently, the NPC couldn’t choose who to go with what. It definitely makes for a big festival.

In addition to the above, there’s water gun races, squeaky duck ponds, skee-ball, target shooting, test your strength with a hammer, pitching speed, shooting hoops… and more! ]

E. Three-legged Race

[ You didn’t think this festival was going to go by without tomfoolery, did you? For the prize of 1,000 Gold, you can rally up a partner and get tied to them by the ankle, participating in a no-rules no-bars-held race. The winners will be randomized! But the real gift is going to be the fact that the ties around your ankles? Aren’t coming undone. You’re going to have to be tied together until 11 PM! ]

F. Fireworks

[ Errant magic and mishaps aside, you have to admit, the fireworks show at the end of it all is really something. Marjorie hired a pony for them, and the lights are as ethereal as they are non-traditional. It’s a good moment to snuggle up to someone or enjoy company with a new friend. ]

[Who let this child walk around alone????? WHO. Without even realising, Samurai Mom has kind of taken to trailing after Seere now that he's aware of just how small and lonely he is, almost falling into step far enough away that it would take prolonged observation to realise what Kojuro's even doing.

It's weird, yeah. But it's an old habit that definitely dies hard; he's long used to playing the silent retainer, following child masters around while they go about their antics until his intervention's required.

Sorry, Seere. He really doesn't mean to be intimidating, that's just his face...And bearing. Everything. Yeah. Right now he's examining a stall's wares, even as his peripheral vision keeps his current target in it at all times. He's almost a master at this parenting at a distance thing.]

[...Is he being followed? It's hard not to take notice of such an exotic outfit, and Seere keeps seeing it everywhere he goes. Maybe he's simply spent too long with priests and knights fussing over him (even the ones younger than him!!) because Hierarch, it's dangerous to go alone, never know when rebels or one-eyed men or Leonards will straight-up just murder you.

Of course it's silly to worry about that in a place like this.

But, you know. It's only a matter of time before Seere starts keeping an eye on Stranger Danger over there just as much as he's being watched.]

[It takes a minute for Kojuro to feel that he's being watched in turn, and he slowly tenses up as he turns from the stall; alas, he'd left his swords at home (instead of bringing them on the bus because duh, who brings swords on a bus), and it probably wouldn't make a good impression to start putting hands on them right now anyway--

Ah.

Oh no, how long has he been doing it. How long was he dadding out for. Oh no. He grimaces very obviously when he finally looks at Seere again, really looks at him, before deciding to do what any decent person should when they...Do whatever it is that he's just been doing. Oh no. He must look so bad, this is awful.]

Young master! Excuse me. [Oh my god Kojuro you can't just loom over such a tiny man like this with your boob out. You're in the West now!!!] I believe that I owe you an apology for my conduct.

Instead he drops to one knee, head bowed. It's not exactly hard to let Seere take the reins of this conversation, and he's all too glad to give them if they're politely assumed.] You are alone, yes? [In one second, he's certain this man must be one of the Knights. But the next he goes and implies he's just some confused but well-meaning civilian... His formal behaviour will stick in Seere's mind, even if it doesn't ever prove to be relevant. It's because of that that he can't easily his habits in front of him, either. He inclines his head a little, keeping that air of authority as best as a casually dressed kindergartner can.]

The point is that Seere's safe, mostly. And Seere seems to have his head on straight. He's legitimately relieved, punkishness aside.]

He can't help but feel a little ashamed of himself when he picks up on that mood, though. No, he wanted the opposite of this, this is not how to make friends. Please don't run away and start a murdercult because he's so callous.]

My situation is similar. I forget that I'm somewhere I can easily be mistaken for a child. [...Not that he couldn't be back home, but at least people tended to know about his pact...] But I think we can still become fine friends in spite of our appearances! Perhaps, but they're perfectly understandable.

[Ha ha ha. It's a shame he doesn't have more of a mischievous streak because there's so much opportunity that comes with his soft baby face and his newfound freedom and anonymity here. Perhaps he'll develop one in time, with the right (wrong) influences. Now that he has a whole new world in front of him.

That's for later. For now he follows Kojuro as fast as those tiny legs can take him, and he is grateful for the considerate pace. Things like that, he can deal with.
