[He's not around often on the network, but some of you might have seen Undertaker in town and about, purchasing seeds, exploring the area, ~~listening to the wind from the roofs~~, that sort of thing. Oh, and that rescue in the cave with the young Earl? He was most definitely there. Perhaps you know his face from that encounter?]

I have need of a doctor of medical sciences, preferably one with quality knowledge of human cosmetics. Should you fit the description, please contact me. There's a small matter I would discuss in private. [He has no hat to tip today, so he simply nods before he ends the feed, but it isn't hard to see even from this brief video that he has a scar problem... clear across his face. Or is that really why he's asking?] Ta.

[Oblivious as ever:]

Are you alright? I thought reapers couldn't get ill or anything.

[There's his snooping ward. Then again, he did make that post public, and he does happen to be sitting just a room over from the Earl.]

Oh, just fine, milord. No need to worry.

[Of course he was going to snoop. He can't help himself.]

Are you sure? I could put on some tea if you'd like.

[For that, he grins.]

Now that you mention it, I do find myself with a case of the laziness. It's so terrible, milord! [To make a show of it, he finds the nearest couch and drapes himself upon it.] Whatever am I to do?

[He can't help a soft laugh either, at the sight of his dramatics.]

I'm not doctor but I think tea might help. And maybe a bit of this... [He makes his way over and tugs the throw blankets from the back of the couch to toss over the reaper.]

[Should part of those blankets end up over his face, he leaves them there. Because.]

Oh? Is it helping? I don't feel like getting up. Something must be wrong with me.

[Another soft laugh.] You'd have to tell me. Doesn't sound like it's helping though. I'll definitely have to make some tea.

[A soft huff.] Mm. In that case, give me a few hours to observe myself.

[And limp, he goes, half tempted to try and sleep. Just because.]

[He can't help but fret a little, not knowing what's going on or what's wrong.]

I'll have the tea ready in a few minutes, if you want it. [Already he's setting the kettle to heat.]

[Does he hear fretting? Does he really hear that? He pulls back the blanket and looks over at the Ciel-blob that moves around the room.]

I think I can manage.

[ He does indeed. And if the teen were closer, he'd be able to see the worry in his remaining eye. ]

You relax. I'll bring over everything when it's ready, I don't mind.

[So he did. He'll keep staring in that direction then, listening intently.]

Grim reapers are humans who are already dead. I've told you this before. There isn't much that can kill us now.

[He can't help himself. fiddling with a pair of mugs and their favorite tea until the kettle starts whistling.]

Doesn't mean you're impervious to everything. [Comes a petulant little mumble. Maybe. He doesn't know just how immune reapers are. And Undertaker is still important to him.]

[He hears that fiddling and he knows what it means, and he decides he can't keep the boy in the dark this time. He tosses the blanket back over the back of the couch in one move before he gets up and goes to the kitchen and holds his arms open.]

Come here, my lord. I'll tell you why you don't need to worry.

[Part of him wants to be stubborn and pout but the other part just wants the reassurance that someone so close to him and his family really is alright. So he sets the tea to steep and then turns, meeting the reaper and wrapping his own arms around him.]

[He has the patience of the dead, and he'll stand there and wait all day, just like that, if he has to. But he doesn't wait too long and he has a small Earl in his arms. He'll let Ciel take a moment to savor it, lift a hand to rub his hair.]

I meant it to be a surprise for you, but... seeing as how you've gone with an empty socket for so long, and that's bound to cause problems at some point, no matter how careful we are with it, I thought I might consult a doctor to see about getting you a replacement. It's a shame we don't have doctor Beverly here, or I could have just sent her a message on the side, in private.

[Savor it he does, eye closing for a moment as he relaxes. He's still surprised at least, lifting his head after to stare up at him. A replacement... Suddenly, he's just hugging tightly to the reaper.]

You... you didn't have to- don't have to.

[He holds Ciel as close as he needs, letting him stay there, cradling him and rubbing his hair. Poor boy.]

I don't have to do a lot of things, I've learned. But I still do them.

[He clings a little more tightly, not finding the words to express himself just yet.]

You keep looking after me.

[That hold speaks all for itself.]

You're important to me, milord, and it will make your life easier to have something so small back as much as it can be. I know that it bothers you, that eye, even if it isn't in your head.

[He's not letting going any time soon. Good thing he'd only just started fixing the tea, they have time before it gets cold.]

It feels strange without it.

[It will wait. Right now, comforts and reassurances are more important.]

You've only been without it a short time, all things considered. I've been without my eyesight as it should be for centuries, but that's nothing compared to losing the thing that gives you the sight.

[That's all he really wants for the moment anyway.]

I wish I could do something for your vision. It doesn't seem right, you appreciate life and the people around you, and the world, but can't see it all.

[He won't object, not in the least. Not to the comforting anyway.]

As long as I've had it like this, it'd be strange to have that back. Besides, those little phone devices have allowed me to see things clearly with the photos they take. I miss it, but how well I function now is more important to me.

It's still awful. [A little sigh. Still hugging.] Knowing your vision is impaired and knowing I can't help you a bit like you were able to do for me.
