MINGLE: BEACH DAY BABAY

You didn't think summer would go by without at least one day for fun in the sun, did you? Of course, with how close Pelican Town is to the beautiful clear waters of the ocean, hopefully some people went more than just the once.

There's no particular event going on today, but for some reason everyone seems to be swinging by around the same time. A convenient contrivance? The work of a mysterious stranger parading through the streets and bellowing about summer because he didn't learn from being arrested the first time? Who can say?

Anyway, it's the beach. You know what to do. Go fish off the piers, sunbathe, make sand castles, collect shells, get swept away by the undertow and never seen again, play volleyball, go nuts. Just look out for jellyfish.

[ It looks like Ueda Castle has a neighbor on the beach. Sasuke takes an opportunity to stretch and see what this other castle looks like. The architect is someone he doesn't expect. Is that a... mouse? You know what? He's just not going to think about it. ]

That completely depends on what kind of garden you're going for.

Well, I've only seen it once... But I think it's a rose garden, and it's got a hedge maze! I've heard about it a lot, though, always wanted to try the maze out.

[ Well, he wouldn't freak out over it, but he may equate Mickey as some kind of animal demon like a kitsune or tengu.... That's a little better than the freaking out reaction, isn't it? ]

The first thing I'd do for a maze is draw it out to get a sense of the scale, but I think using sticks and seaweed could do the trick once you do.

[ He imagines lining the maze with walls of sticks with seaweed draped or woven between them. ]

Oh, seaweed! That's a really great idea!

[He begins searching the sand for a good stick to draw with.]

You're pretty smart, huh?

It's all about being resourceful with what you have. I've been using the stuff that washes up for banners on my castle.

[ Sasuke will quickly scan the water's edge for some of that seaweed and even manages to find a small piece of pink coral. ]

Could you use one of these for a tree?

Oh, that's great! I think there were a few trees there. Didn't see much the first time around, but I did want to get a better look after I asked her out -

You'll have to take a picture of it and show her when you return.

[ Did he use the terminology right? There are no cameras in feudal Japan! ]

Hm... does anyone here have one of those camera things I can borrow? We don't have them back in my world. It's a real shame, they're pretty neat.

You know, I think there is one, but I don't know if the lady will let you use it. You'll have to just use the one on the jPad.

[ And then shout at how close it is to the real deal and be overly excited for such a silly thing. ]

Oh, yeah! She's the princess of our kingdom! And me and my pals got a super special assignment to guard her! See, some real bad folks are tryin' to hurt her, for some reason, so she needed bodyguards. Captain Pete knew me, Donald and Goofy were perfect for the job!

So many people have problems with using titles. I'm not sure I'll ever get used to it.

[ Part of it is because he is of a lower status. Another part is trolling people with using an honorific when he actually doesn't respect them at that level or wants to keep a distance. And there is a part is actually because he does hold the person in high regard.

But Sasuke doesn't seem that bothered by the correction. Whether or not he'll actually follow through is another matter. ]

Well, I suppose I just don't feel I've done anything to deserve it. Maybe if I was knighted by the princess, or somethin'... But, shoot, I'd like to think that, no matter what, we're all the same on the inside.

Not using titles back home either means you're super familiar, speaking to someone beneath you, or just plan rude. People are more casual here.
