MINGLE: BEACH DAY BABAY
Who: You, and you!
What: Exactly what it says on the tin.
When: Sometime mid-August.
Where: Down on the BEACH.
Warnings: Uh... Mark your threads if they get a little too wet and wild, I guess?

You didn't think summer would go by without at least one day for fun in the sun, did you? Of course, with how close Pelican Town is to the beautiful clear waters of the ocean, hopefully some people went more than just the once.
There's no particular event going on today, but for some reason everyone seems to be swinging by around the same time. A convenient contrivance? The work of a mysterious stranger parading through the streets and bellowing about summerbecause he didn't learn from being arrested the first time? Who can say?
Anyway, it's the beach. You know what to do. Go fish off the piers, sunbathe, make sand castles, collect shells, get swept away by the undertow and never seen again, play volleyball, go nuts. Just look out for jellyfish.

And yet, here she was. Walking along the beach, with a black one piece suit and a large straw hat. Always a safe bet. Her sandals got coated with sand as she stood near the water a lot. She wasn’t one to really romantically partake in scenery, but maybe it was nice to indulge in the quiet. Read a book, find some shells, write some more, occassionally step her toes in the water, or watch some Goldeen along the pier. She spent the day here doing just that, mostly though...she was in serious thought.]

Chucking a ball. For the very excited animal that's running to go get it. She may even be nose deep in a book, or project. Any damage that you may have been witness to on her arm before is definitely there now, only more stark in the sunlight and without her usually long and dressy shirts covering it. There are several other ominous scars painted lightly across her arms, but only on close inspection would you see them. Freckles? Yeah. Those too. And only more popping up by the second. ]

[It's nice to kick back and have fun at the beach, to not worry about Shennagines. She does feel a bit guilty that she's left Babii, but. She's only looking after the rayquaza. It's not her pokemon. Plus, there's someone from the League here. Might not be from her world, but that doesn't matter. It's the League.
But that doesn't mean she's left all her pokemon behind. Nope. While Tsuyoi and Kumori have decided to come with her, the pair are currently napping under a beach umbrella while Saeko's out having fun. Look, Surf is possibly the best move since forever and she's shamelessly out in the water on Umaki, the swampert easily breaking the waves while Saeko laughs loud and clear. Her wetsuit even compliments the pokemon's blue skin.
Sometimes, they even ride a wave into the beach, both shrieking (well, bellowing in the pokemon's case) in delight.] We have to do this when we go home!
[If she notices any curious looks, she is going to comment on it as she hops off the pokemon.] Would you like a go? I don't think Umaki'd mind.
B
[When she's not having fun with Umaki, she's jogging along the beach, mightyena further up ahead, though the hound seems to stop every so often, turning with a whooping bark, as if to say 'Hurry up!', before bounding off again - either right into the water to splash about, or up onto the sand.] You're gonna stink later, you know that?
[Not that Saeko seems to mind, judging by the laughter in her voice.]
C
[Or maybe you just find her under her umbrella. She could be sunbathing, attempting to get all the sand out of her pokemon's coat, attempting to put a few braids into the shiftry's fur (the patience of a saint), or resting against a doozing umaki as she stares out to sea, lost thought.]
...It's not the same without them. [She doesn't mean it to be heard, but it probably is. What she wouldn't give for her besties to come, but at the same time - she giggle snorts, picturing the Wally she knows on a beach.] Mitsu's allergies'd probably be hell on him.

[Mickey's taking this sandcastle business a touch seriously, his tongue sticking out at the edge of his mouth as he caaarefully sculpts towers, windows, and rooftops to fit the image of his beloved princess' castle. Once he's satisfied for the moment, he sits down.]
Hm... I wonder if there's anything I can use to make the garden.
Under The Sea
[Eventually it gets hot enough for Mickey to consider a swim. He takes off everything but his pants, and enjoys the water. All is calm, all is well... until a bird/animal/YOU IF YOU WANNA BE A JERK/ has suddenly grabbed his hat and run off.
Mickey stares for one second before bolting out of the water.]
No no no no no! You give that back! HEY!

[Ahhh, the sun! The sea!! Weiss was no stranger to beaches, what with having been exposed to one during her time in Koriko. And while it felt rather different, it was all the more reason for her to put on a cute two-piece and take a dive. Gosh, having this much time without work or any errands to run was...okay, it’s a little strange and she would like to get back to finishing the one task she meant to do at some point if the bus schedules ever worked again, but it’s at least she can enjoy it properly this time!!
And what better way to do so then with a game of...catch? Volleyball? Whatever other games involve some round object? Either way, she’s having a bit of a competitive itch, so she’ll toss it at anyone passing by and flash a confident grin.]
Hi! Are you up for a round or two?
B)
[Of course being out and cooling off from summer heat was nice, but everything becomes so much more magically beautiful after the sun sets and stars start to peek out from the sky; once Weiss has had her fun, she’ll be found dancing along the shores as she twirls the skirt of her breezy sundress, humming a song all the while.]

[ Sasuke is chilling the best he can in the trees lining the beach. It's not the easiest thing to do considering the type of trees they are, but he makes do. His eyes are closed. Mr. Tori is fluffed up and resting in his lap. Even the crow gets a beach break.
But... why go to the beach if you're not going to enjoy it to the fullest? C'mon, Sasuke. Now's not the time for tree napping... if he's actually napping and not just acting like he is. He is even still wearing his camo ninja garb. ]
B: Are ninja architects a thing?
[ Eventually, someone gets Sasuke out of the tree and partaking in more traditional beach activities. He's taken to building sand castles while Mr. Tori harasses sea gulls or picks up colorful pieces of shells and beach glass. The sand castle looks like Ueda Castle... actually a lot like Ueda Castle. He's spent enough time fixing the walls to know the layout intimately. ]
Watch your step. I'm working on part of the moat over there.

ngl I thought he was going to make a baseball diamond
....HE SHOULD HAVE
There's more to build for a sand baseball field than a soccer field
late as balls MCCOWBOY
[There are plenty of fun things to do on a beach and McCree's favorite thing is to do nothing at all. Almost nothing--he certainly feels like he's earned some R&R with all the hard work he's put into Jack's farm. He'd give himself even more credit if Jack or Gabe or Ana weren't within earshot. They probably were. It's fine, he brought his own cooler and umbrella, staked deep into the sand. He'll just get comfortable in his red swim trunks
lifeguard gear and bionic arm not included, lounge back in his beach chair and help himself to a drink or two... or three. Or four. There's a 75% chance he's going to be at least buzzed in any of these prompts so pick your poison. Also beware his atrocious farmer's tan. It's real and it's noticeable.]
It's hiiiiigh serve
[Chances are he's sober enough or drunk enough to think a game of volley ball is a great idea, and to be fair he's not bad at it. He's an expert at jumping and rolling in the sand to catch those impossible hits and his aim is second to none. His only problem is he's easily distracted, especially by anyone good looking. McCree's very liable to want to show off to anyone who'll give him enough attention.]
Who wants to bet a drink I can make this serve?
Those aren't moonlight jellies...!
[All that fun in the sun and McCree's worked up quite a sweat. He's eager to cool off in the ocean and maybe a whole 20 minutes goes by before he feels a stinging, burning sensation on his shoulder. He tries to swat whatever it is off but all he feels is something gooey and the pain seems to only increase. He bursts into a panicked slosh as he makes his way towards the shore and finds the first person he can come across, groaning and sweating. He speaks quickly and fruitlessly claws at his own back.]
Hey, what's on my back and how gross is it and can you pull it off?
[He turns around and shows it's in a spot that's not easy for him to reach. The jellyfish is somehow suctioned onto his skin like an adorable gelatinous tumor. He's practically bouncing around from one foot to another. Help a guy out?]
high servin' it is
jellies!
