[Hey look, a video with a very farm-like backdrop! Nothing new. That the farmer on the video is a small orange horse wearing a cowboy hat might be somewhat new, though.]

Howdy everypony---er, everybody. Heh. Sorry. Force of habit.

Anyhoo, my name's Applejack. I'm from someplace called Equestria, if any of y'all know it? But this ain't my first time being dumped someplace new. Not as bad as it could be, I guess? I've been here about a week just trying to get my little slice of paradise up and running.

I'm no stranger to farm work, and I'd be happy to lend a hoof if you need to haul some heavy stuff. Just let me know, okay? Hope to see some of you fine folks around.

[And with a wave of her hoof, she shuts it off.]

Hey, I didn't say it was easy. The little buttons sure aren't made for these.

[She holds up a hoof and sighs.]

Back in Equestria we used magic scrolls. Starting to miss that.

Hah. They are not made for ones of my size, either. [ Don't mind Belias raising a giant claw. There's not much for scale, but...! ] Magicked scrolls sound quite a bit more... convenient. This land only smells slightly of magic.

[She just smiles.]

Magic's more trouble than it's worth sometimes. But I'd never say no to an honest day's worth. Not so bad, is it?

[[ you know, talking animal-like people aren't new to nia, but a literal talking horse isn't usually a part of her wheelhouse. they don't even have regular horses where she's from, much less the pastel orange variety. ]]

Hello, ah, Applejack! My name is Nia. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance!

[[ and, cutting right to the chase: ]] What are you?

Well, Miss Nia, I'm a pony.

[She flicks her tail, slightly befuddled. She knows most humans aren't familiar with talking ponies, but this is new.]

An earth pony, to be precise. We work the land with our hooves.

A pony! I have never heard of such a creature before. You are very cute, ponies are very cute! [[ she's used to things like pigmoles and grapehippos and whatever this thing is, but not horses. go figure. ]]

"We"? There are more like you, these "earth ponies"? [[ cue awe. and then a thoughtful look. ]] Are there other types of ponies beside what you are, Miss Applejack?

[Aww shucks. She smiles.]

Thank you kindly, Miss Nia, though I reckon my friends' reactions to that would sure be something.

Anyway, yeah, there's four kinds of ponies. The earth ponies, like me. Pegasus ponies have wings and fly. Unicorns have horns and can use magic. Then there are our princesses, the alicorns---they have wings, horns, and the strength of the earth ponies. We've all gotta work together to help the land grow.

[[ this is the most magical concept she's ever heard from and she is loving it if the look on her face is anything to go by. ]] There are so many kinds! How wonderful! And you all work together? That is so good to hear!

I hope to meet all the other types of ponies! Do you know if there are others here with us? [[ she pauses, visibly chilling out ~~but only a little~~. ]] Or are you alone?

I haven't seen any just yet. There's my friend Neph, she used to be an alicorn, but she's turned back to human.

Heh. Long story.

[Oh, it's her daughter. She should say hello. Flicking the device on, Pear replied.]

Hi Applejack! How's my girl?

[It's been years since she's heard that voice. She sucks in a shaky breath.]

...Ma? How?

[Oh this might not be the same Applejack she met.]

Interdimensional cross-world travel mixed in with a dimensionally spawned internet system, [she replied with a hint of a smile.] Took me a few months to get used to it too.

Not easily, that's for sure.

[She glared slightly off-screen at the buttons that had taunted her.]

Had to pick up a stick with my teeth and poke it that way.

Seems awfully inconvenient.

I know a gal who's good with technology--goes by the name of Sombra--and saw another fellow recently on the network who seemed to like tinkering with the jpads too. Maybe they can help you out.

Heck, I'd even settle for magic mirrors at this point. And I know how dangerous those can be.

How'd that work?

Say somepony's name, they pop up in your mirror and can see you from theirs. You talk. Pretty straightforward, but you gotta watch there's nothing creepy in the magic that was used.

Can't say I've ever heard of any place called Equestria or if I have I don't remember it.

[She sits back and smiles regardless.] Anyhoo, welcome to the valley, Applejack!

S'alright. Most humans don't. And that means you weren't caught up in all that mess, so that ain't necessarily a bad thing.

At least it sounds as if you came here with a bit of an advantage over everyone else.

I could sure use some helpful advice when it comes to farming. Especially when it comes to mushrooms.

What's giving you trouble about 'em? Too fussy?

Just a little, I have so many mushrooms here I don't know what to do with them. Maybe I should use the end to grow other things too but mushrooms just seem to be the only thing that speak to me.

Yeah, I heard of it but only because a few others were there years ago. As for me, I don't know really anything on farming but I can at least craft and mine things in exchange.

What were their names? Maybe I know 'em?

And of course I'll set up a trade, if you like.

There's Nephenee, Cirno, Patchouli, and Yukiko as far as I'm concerned who know of that place.

I'm pretty good at weaving and making clothes and I've been cooking ever since I was little so I can at least provide those if needed.

Sure thing! I ain't much of one for clothes, but I could always find some food to share.

Neph might be around but I haven't seen anyone else from that list. Personally, I don't think Yukiko would be able to handle it. Big swords yes but that's a little different.

Ponies get along just fine usually, but...okay. Some of this stuff definitely wasn't built for ponies.

You know anybody that could tweak some of the tools a little? A harness for the plow, that sort of thing?

I bet we could find something like that, sure.

[It was a farm... you know, with regular horses and stuff. Angel isn't sure there might be any for small cartoon ponies though.]

There's the shop of course, but does your farm have a barn on it? Maybe there's something in there.
