[With things being as they are as of late and "Violet" not really getting anywhere with the whole trying to work out who she is thing going on she's been doing her best to distract herselfs from the stresses and strains of farm life...namely raising mushrooms, trying to avoid another anxiety attack from Taako and definitely avoiding mineshafts for the time being.

Maybe it's time to reach out? Maybe address more people by making her face known around the valley. And as such she fiddles with her device and attempts to make herself known somehow.]

Uh Hi, hello... don't mind me!

I uhm...I've been in the valley for a few weeks now and still no luck in finding out anything about who I am or where I came from. So I was planting mushrooms as you do and a great thought came to me! What's the one thing all of us have to have in common...?

Families! We all must have come from families of some kind, right? So...[She adjusts herself and tucks one of her bangs behind her ear and coughs gently.] maybe, I thought--

I thought if you could tell me about your families that maybe... just maybe I might remember what mine's like.

...Well at least if I did know then it'd be my choice in whether or not I'd want to be with them. I mean I guess it's still my choice right now.

You understand what I mean don't you?

I do. That's probably the best way to look at it, all things considered.

Well... I'm the second of four children. My race has a matrilineal structure and an emphasis on the women and daughters in particular. Most Keeper fathers don't really participate in raising kids, either, so it was just my mother and us for a while. I have an older sister who I get along really well with, a younger sister who deserves a swift kick in the arse at any given time, and a baby brother I kind of worry about. After a while, my father stepped back in, but it's not common practice; he just deemed it necessary and took it upon himself.

I don't see them as often anymore, but sometimes I go back and visit my older sister. I look up to her a lot, although I'd be lying if I said I'm not a little bit bitter about her, too. Distance makes things a little easier, of course; I don't think I could stand living with them again.

That sounds a little complicated...so you never really got to spend time with your father up until then?

Should I ask more about your sisters or is that a sensitive spot? I mean I know I asked abut everyone's families but at the same time I don't want to bring up anything that might make people sad if they have to talk about it.

Not until I was an adult, no. In retrospect, he and my mom had the kind of relationship where one has to wonder how he ever managed to fall in love with her, much less have four kids with her.

I don't mind. Was there anything specific you were curious about? Granted, my word may be a little biased...

Did you have anyone else there... someone who wasn't technically family but you found a way to make them a part of it?

There is someone I consider like a father, even though I have one of my own. He's been through a lot because of us, and because of me, and yet he always makes the effort to keep his door open, just in case. Sometimes I cross paths with him when I'm in the area, and we'll end up talking, or going back to his manor for tea or something... It kind of feels now like he'd been there all along, you know?

There's another group that... I'm not sure "family" is quite the right word, but it's applicable anyway. Some things just don't have those perfect terms, though.

[She pauses for a moment. That sounds like something she might have had once...maybe? Maybe more than that but then that horrid fuzziness in her head comes again. She shouldn't be focusing so much on that. Just because it's something she wishes she could have she can't lay claim to that memory.]

It sounds nice.

That said, there's always a possibility you'll end up finding a new family, right? Perhaps then, you won't have to worry about your old one, whether the memories return or not. Family is not determined solely by blood.

No. Mr. Augustine was kind enough to give me this name for the moment but if you have something you'd prefer to refer to me as I don't see how it could hurt.
