[With things being as they are as of late and "Violet" not really getting anywhere with the whole trying to work out who she is thing going on she's been doing her best to distract herselfs from the stresses and strains of farm life...namely raising mushrooms, trying to avoid another anxiety attack from Taako and definitely avoiding mineshafts for the time being.

Maybe it's time to reach out? Maybe address more people by making her face known around the valley. And as such she fiddles with her device and attempts to make herself known somehow.]

Uh Hi, hello... don't mind me!

I uhm...I've been in the valley for a few weeks now and still no luck in finding out anything about who I am or where I came from. So I was planting mushrooms as you do and a great thought came to me! What's the one thing all of us have to have in common...?

Families! We all must have come from families of some kind, right? So...[She adjusts herself and tucks one of her bangs behind her ear and coughs gently.] maybe, I thought--

I thought if you could tell me about your families that maybe... just maybe I might remember what mine's like.

Very much! Through ups and downs and all sorts of squabbles family is still family.

[He thinks quietly for a moment before brightening up.]

I'm certain you did. And of course family is not always in the traditional sense. It doesn't need to be a father and siblings. There are many kinds. Sometimes just close-knit friends can be considered such a thing.

Then I guess I'll have to make my own family here until I find out what happened to my real one!

[That's what normal people do right, Haurchefant?]

Oh Uh... I'd inroduce myself but I'm still not really sure of my name. I've just been going by "Violet" at the moment.

[Um... absolutely!]

Violet is a very lovely name. Like the flower, yes? Ah, and I am Haurcherfant Greystone of House Fortemps. It's already been quite a pleasure making your acquaintance.

[Is that a flirt? Because Violet's not sure how to react to that. Any other girl would have possibly blushed at being talked to so gentlemanly but Violet just sort of stares for a moment - nope no reaction at all. Huh.

She should knock that off, she's being rude.]

Oh! Uh the pleasure's all.. mine?

[He's not always flirting... Well. He is but not right at the moment. Sometimes it just comes off that way. He can't help it. It's just in his nature.]

Ah? [Despite the slip he's utterly delighted by the words.] Fantastic then!

But, if you don't mind me asking, do you remember anything from your past at all? I only ask because you said you've been planting mushrooms. And perhaps there's some reason for it. Perhaps a memory your mind can't quite recall but your body does. That's not terribly uncommon at all. Perhaps if you ate or even sauteed mushrooms the flavor might help you remember!

That's a good idea, I should definitely try that! You wouldn't happen to know of any good mushroom recipes do you?

I do! I come from a place that's quite cold so I know a great many stews that require mushrooms. Granted... I have not seen very many of the animals I am familiar with but I have seen chickens! You can make an excellent meal out of something like that. Of this I am most certain.

There's raptor stew and chicken and mushrooms and baked sole which is quite good. Maybe one of those will help jog your memory.

[Her device buzzes as the text is received.]

I sure hope so. I can't say I remember ever tasting Raptor stew before either...

It's quite tangy, the meat I mean. The stew is savory. Though I have not seen any raptors thus far... but if I chance upon one I will be sure to take care of the beast myself. Then you can sample a very fine stew. You won't be disappointed, I promise!

...What kind of animal is a raptor anyway?

Kind of like a dragon... only much much smaller. And their wings are where their arms would be. But they're flimsy little things. They can't do any great flying. Just a bit of gliding if that.

And people...eat them?

Sounds kind of harsh to me.

In the defense of, well, all people they would eat us first if given the chance.

[That still doesn't sound right for some reason. Why would these creatures try and eat them in the first place...?]

And no one's ever thought to try and reason with them? No wonder they're angry.

I'm afraid I don't... They're just animals. They can't talk or understand. Like chickens and such.

[If they can't make dragons that do talk and understand be reasonable then there is no helping a raptor.]

I think you might be misunderstanding the situation... just a little bit.

Maybe, but it still feels wrong to me somehow. I don't know why.

[Don't worry H, there's a very good chance you'll meet one sooner than you think.]

How could anyone decide to take the life of something like that and then eat it?

Well... we all need to eat to survive. Where I'm from there is blistering snow and cold. Very little can be grown so we need to find some other way to get nourishment and that's what the creatures around us are for.

Do you not eat other animals then...? Just plants and fruit?

Of course I do! But--

[She's failing to make her point but she feels so passionate abut this. It's like a burning in her chest she needs to get rid of and so she shall.]

Would you do the same to like... I don't know a Unicorn or something?! Dragons have every right to live a normal life without living in fear of being eaten! They're amazing creatures! Just because you don't understand them doesn't mean you have the right to hurt them!

[Whoa...Violet calm down. Girl, you alright?]

[So that's where the confusion lies.]

Now... Raptors aren't dragons. Perhaps that was a poor comparison on my end. They're more like... overgrown lizards then.

[Do people eat and use dragons skin and bones for all sorts? Yes... but that's not anything he's going to bring up. Along with unicorns. Oh... and he's definitely not going to say all that his people have done to dragons. Nope.]

I still don't think it's right...

[And yet she's quite happy when it comes to eating other sources of meat. She seems quite protective of anything big and scaley though. Odd huh?]

I'm having a hard time understanding, truly. You eat meat, as you clearly stated. But eating lizards isn't okay? What makes eating a lizard different from a chicken?

But it's not a lizard it's a--!

[They're clearly not getting anywhere with this conversation are they?]

Look, it's stupid but...can we just drop the subject? I think we've gotten way off track here.

[It was a very flustering conversation one that he only seemed to somehow to upset the young lady more and more. Which was not his intent by any means.

Perhaps just cultural differences and all...]

My apologies all the same. I had not meant to upset you so.

It's fine, I just...

[She sighs.] I shouldn't have got so upset over it, It's stupid really.

Things that upset someone are surely no such thing. Of this I promise.

[He offers an apologetic bow of the head. Granted he's not sure what he's done but if it's enough to upset someone then it must be remedied so not to be done again.

No talking of eating lizards in the future. Understood.]
