[ Have a confused ninja on your screens, fellow farmers! Because one second, she's, well--dead. And the next, she's bouncing along on a bus headed to Martel-knows-where.
Okay, a farm. And that very farm can be seen behind Sheena, and from the size and buildings, one can see it's a Standard Farm.
Nothing too big for our ninja. ]
Well, at least this thing doesn't make me choose an alias. [ There's a hint of wry relief in that statement. As she speaks and moves the camera around, it would become apparent that her clothes don't fit her too well--they're pretty loose. And somewhat tattered.
Especially the trailing ends of what appears to be a huge pink bow sneaking out from under her dark purple jacket--which is still closed up despite the heat. ]
Hello, everyone! My name is Sheena Fujibayashi, and I just arrived here! What was that thing, anyway? There wasn't anything like that where I was last, though it kinda looked like an EC. [ Yep, has no idea what a bus is, but can handle the jPad like a pro. ] I'm not too sure about what exactly is going on, but I guess I have a farm now?
[ And she'll just point over her shoulder. ]
I've never run a farm--though I did help with the herb patches back in Mizuho! So, I can definitely grow plants. [ She's kind of wistful about that--like she hasn't seen a plant for a long time. ] I'm not sure where to start, though. Any advice?
[ She starts thanking everyone but stops. ]
Oh. One more thing. I guess we can leave any time? But do you know if we go back home or to the very last place we were?
Thanks!
[ And the feed ends. ]

[He doesn't want her to stop talking. He allows her to talk whatever is on her mind.]
So these summon spirits are elementals. How very interesting! Your ability is interesting, I mean. I hope you show your elemental spirits to me someday. I don't think you're weird. My world is just different. There's no mages, just a lot of politics and wars.
[He left the priests, nuns, and the empire of the methuselah out. It's kinda complicated for a simple ninja girl to explain.]
[Meanwhile, his own abilities are just...the hallmark of his sins, which he kept hidden for now. As for the painting, he's working on it now that she looks interested in seeing it...but not until it's done.]
I had a swim in the ocean waters a few days ago. The ocean water is warm and salty, so that's where I decided I wanted to paint. I know the stores sell some swimsuits if they carry your size.
[He enjoys her company too. Hopefully, that will help her settle on her first day here. He isn't joking about paying the tab because once dinner is eaten and the food and drinks are gone, he paid his tab for the waitress for the entire meal.]
I bet you want to see the rest of the town and then I'll show you the beach. How is that?
no subject
Yeah. They control the mana of my world to keep everything in balance and to protect the planet. And yes, I will show them to you. I promise. [ An eyebrow shoots up as she shakes her head. ] Not so different from mine. We have politics and wars, too.
Oh, and I'm not a mage, but I know a couple of them. I'm just a Summoner.
[ And she's leaving out the part of her world being one, then two, then one again. Maybe one day they can trade stories.
And how ironic that she's talking about her abilities--which are also connected to a major sin she still feels she needs to atone for? After all, she hadn't quite united the people of two worlds before she left. ]
Ohhh...[ It's a slightly jealous sound. ] You did? That sounds wonderful and fun. My village is also near the ocean, so I did a lot of swimming there. I hope they have my size; if not, my clothes can always be hung up to dry.
[ He may have noticed that she already has begun to relax and settle because of him keeping her company right now. Though, that doesn't keep her from arguing with him about the check before sitting back in her chair and crossing her arms in mock indignation, eyes gleaming impishly. ]
You bet right. And that sounds like a great idea...though I'm paying for dinner next time!

[The girl uses a lot of strange words. Mana. Mages. Summoners. But he thinks he gets the gist. Her language and lingo is simple enough for him to understand.]
All right, next time then. I happen to see you're a big eater like myself. And next time, I was thinking of breakfast in a diner. I happen to like coffee and pancakes~.
[So take note, Sheena! The priest has quite an appetite and a food lover.]
Let me show you the beach as I promised.
[At that, after paying his tab, the priest walks toward the door, showing her the way on his way to the beach. Which is through the rest of the town and the forests.]
There are these ports where people come to fish, but I happen to like the beach, so I can paint the scene and the boats and people here.
no subject
Arms still crossed, she gives an emphatic nod. ]
Good! And I'm holding you to that! [ Her cheeks turn red and she scratches the back of her head. ] I uh, usually don't eat like that, but everything just smelled so good, I couldn't help it. [ Also, eating very little for months on end can do that do a person. ] And you're on! Coffee and pancakes on me!
[ She's used to someone having a big appetite. Just do her a favor and breathe between bites. ]
Ah yes! [ She takes one last sip of her drink before joining him and looking around. This time, it's clear she's memorizing the way, and not just looking excitedly at the scenery. Until they reach the forests. Then she can't help but grin.
A grin that grows wider when they reach their destination. ]
I can see why you like it here. [ Excuse her while she gets her feet bare so she can sink her toes into the warm, wet sand. ] You don't fish?
no subject
[Looks like his mission is accomplished, after showing her the beach. The warm ocean winds, the ocean, salt in the air, and the hot sand from soaking the sun from the earlier morning. He stood by, watching her and observing feeling the scenery.]
I do fish. There's a guy that sells fishing rods in the store we passed by. I got a rod from him and he sells fish bait too if you're interested.
[There are people, fisherman, standing at the wooden dock fishing, waving their rods.]
But most of my income is just selling the fruits and vegetables and herbs that I grew in my garden, which I also harvest and used to cook my food and sell those too.
Anyway, it's warm here. I hope you like it here. Alaska is really cold, and nobody lives there in my world. It's uninhabitable as the climate there is unstable. It might be different for you, though I hope this valley is quite a change of environment if you choose to live here.

[ Said in a content, yet wistful, tone. She takes several deeps breaths of the salty air, which has an even more calming effect on her. She looks back in the direction they had traveled. ]
I'm going to have to see that guy--although, I may have my own bait once I start digging up my farm. [ Watch out, worms, here she comes! She waves at the fishermen before turning back to Abel. She's already planning meals based on the seeds she had found in her shed. ] Do you have a favorite spot?
Mmmm. That's probably what I'll do once I get started. I found several different seeds in the shed, but...I wonder if that cafe would hire me part-time? [ Not that she's money-hungry. She just has ideas that need money. ]
Compared to where I was last--it's very warm here. I like it here. [ Though not just for the change of temperature. ] And it really does remind me of home, so I think I'm going to enjoy living here.
[ Had there been any doubt that she'd want to stay? ]
no subject
You mean to fish? Once you get your fishing rod, I'll show you some of the docks where I fish...though I only fished twice in the past month.
I think they would, they had openings last time I dined there.
[With a smile.]
Well, wherever you come, it's comfortable here and its warm too. Just be wary of the monsters that wandered in the wild. There's the Pokemon too, another type of monsters and wild animals that I captured a few as friends and companions to help me keep the wild monsters at bay.
no subject
She nods, her smile growing wider. ]
I'd like that, Abel. Thanks! I cook you some to repay you! Man, it's been so long, I hope I remember how. [ It's obvious she's joking. She's becoming more and more like herself as the day progresses. ]
Really? Then I'm going down tomorrow to see about one.
[ Hard work never really bothered her--probably thanks to her grandpa being strict with his training.
Her brows raise and she looks at him with interest. ]
Monsters? What kind of monsters? [ Said more out of interest than fear because she's used to fighting monsters. ] And what are Pokemon?
no subject
[With a laugh, being laid back.]
You're welcome, Sheena. There's a lot to explore around here. The valley is big, but there's a map on your pad once you search for it. Also, slow down, please. You can repay me anytime. I'll be looking forward to whatever you make.
They are monsters in a variety of sizes here in the valley. They are kinda tame, and some people caught them for pets and companions, and they have elemental types like fire, water, and grass. You can train them. I spend time with mine, so I can understand them as friends. They tend to wander about and around in the wild. But if you're not careful, then they can hurt you...so take care.
no subject
[ Though, she already has a few ideas. But don't ask. She won't say.
On the subject of Pokemon, however, she does say something. ]
"Grass" is an element? [ Yes, she sounds surprised, but with her experience, she's going to hazard a guess. ] That sounds earth-based, but centered on using only plants? [ She's got a few of those back home. As he continues, her expression becomes wistful. ]
I think I might look into finding a companion. Are any of them small enough to ride on my shoulder? [ She gives him a smile. ] Thanks for the warning, but you don't have to worry about me; I'm used to fighting monsters, since there are a lot on my world that like to attack you.
[ Including green pepper-throwing trees. ]
no subject
[But being over 900 years old, he has plenty of time. Thankfully, he's debt free.]
Oh those pets...they have different kinds of types. Yes, grass types use only plants and they like to work around the flowers and trees. Some are indeed very small, while some are too large to fit in my house and I didn't capture those large types.
I see. There are no monsters like the types I described back in my homeworld. Other than vampires, but those folks have their genes mutated by the sun, so they're technically very anemic people who craves blood and get sunburns easily.
no subject
[ She's serious. If people need help, they shouldn't be forced to pay for it. ]
Hmmm...Maybe I'll try to find some of those grass types. [ Flowers, you know. ] What kinds do you have?
[ Her brows knit together slightly. ] You...don't consider them monsters, really, do you? [ She's going by the way he described them. ] Because they had no control over what happened to them...
[ There's more than a note of understanding in her voice. ]
no subject
[Though with working on the farming, he might have broken that vow and become lenient in making money and profit in an earnest effort to have savings.]
What kind of pokemon I have? I haven't caught any yet, but there's some wild grass type pokemon that lives in my backyard, but they are wild and they live side by side with me.
No, I see them resembling the animals in the wild that I recognized. [Shaking his head.] Believe me, I understand what you meant by monsters and indeed they have little control what they do. Some of them are anxious around humans and they have no idea of the trouble they cause, but I won't fault them for that. But I heard they can be trained with a trainer if there is diligence and patience in teaching them from right and wrong.

Because everything you would need would be provided by the church, right? And the stipend was for things not covered?
[ Sort of like when she worked for the Research Institute, so she understands. And she's not going to judge him for making money here. His church isn't there to provide, so what else is he going to do? ]
Oh! So, they're kind of like deer that come into your yard. Or rabbits. Wary, but still kind of trusting? I hope I get to see some soon.
[ She grows silent and her brows knit together. ]
I know you said you understand, but maybe I shouldn't have used the word "monster". I learned at the last place I was in that it's not always a good word to use. but sometimes habits are hard to break. [ She hums slightly. ] I think I'm going to have to work on it.
Maybe while trying to make some new animal friends.
no subject
Yes, the church provided the food, the uniform, and travel expenses. Though I have to file a formal complaint that I'm not getting enough good food.
[...he used to think bread and soup are heavenly, but his hungry stomach is starting to crave more food. Which is probably why he moved here.]
Indeed. I try to get mine to warm up to me, but I found they're skittish and tend to run away when I try to get closer tot hem.
[With a nod, shyly.]
I see. I am trying to connect with some animals. So far, I did well and had success with just one cat, a charming tabby who took up residence with me. I haven't thought up a name for her yet.
no subject
[ Besides, why would they not want to see him eat?
Her turn to nod. ]
I've had a lot of companions and the trick is to let them come to you on their own terms. [ She smiles. ] And if you can get a cat to take up residence with you, then you can get any animal to be your friend.
[ Her smile turns shy as well. ]
I'm not as good as my friend Colette, but if you'd like some help choosing a name, I'd be happy to assist.
