[It’s morning. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and there are two new arrivals around town who seem convinced that something very suspicious is going on here. Dressed in what can only be described as tactical gear, they’re clearly some kind of military, and appear to be acting accordingly. In a situation like this, the best course of action is obviously to fall back on instinct in an attempt to get to the bottom of whatever this is supposed to be. For these two, that means proceeding with caution.

Clearly there’s nothing questionable about two men carrying big guns through farms and fields, speaking to each other quietly as if to keep from being overheard. Keeping together, never straying far from the other, or lingering too long in a single area. Not at all questionable, or scary, or yeah no what are these two idiots doing.

They’re doing recon, of course! And they’re fairly thorough about it, methodically searching, poking around, overturning anything that looks questionable and possibly pointing guns at it. Was that thing yours? Sorry, it’s being inspected now. Do you live in this house? No problem, they’re just going to check around back. See or experience anything strange during your stay? No? Are you sure?

Or maybe you just come across them while going about your business. They’re obviously friendly with each other, even if they’re regarding everything else with some degree of wariness. It seems like a great idea to approach, if only to ask what the heck they think they’re doing.]

These people know how to mine, or do they just go in and hope for the best?

[He had to ask. Most people weren't allowed in to mines unless they knew what they were doing, had permission for whatever reason, or were willing to risk it for... dumb reasons.

Honestly, he'd not be surprised if these weren't regular mines considering everything else coming up about this place.]

Would hope there'd be a place to learn how to go about that safely as possible.

Like anything that could potentially be dangerous, and he doubted that the technology here was enough to get people out quickly if something went wrong. Didn't sit right.]

That's true... but that means you shouldn't go by yourself to look either!

[There's no recognition on Jack's face--as far as he's concerned, Hana hasn't even been born yet. If he notices the fact that she seems a little speechless, he doesn't show it. Something like that is easy to write off, and when Gabe takes over the conversation, he offers a nod and keeps checking around back.

Eventually, however, he'll return, wandering back just in time to hear some discussion about the mines, and he takes it upon himself to jump right in.]

He won't be by himself.

[Jack will be going with him, of course.]

[That makes her feel better about it but--! Ah! Jack's return makes Hana stammer a little bit, again only because he looks so much younger! And when he looks at her... it's obvious he doesn't recognize her or anything. Maybe it's just a different white guy...? No, she's not that stupid. She finally sighs and nods, just steeling herself to talk to him like a normal stranger, even if it's so weird.]

Yeah, but that's still just two... What if you guys get stuck?

We've gotten out of tighter things.

[They worked better together, and it was less 'going in to hammer at the walls to look for things' and more 'go in very carefully and get a good look around, and get the hell out if things look bad' than anything else.

A tilt of his head.]

[She looks between them a moment before nodding.]

I guess so.

[If that really is Jack, D.Va knows he can do just about anything.]

[Introductions really hadn't been happening much since it had been the least of their concerns.

Both of them had been functioning on recon mode.]

[The introduction itself should indicate that from where he's standing, he's never met Hana before, or even knows who she is. He tries to offer a reassuring smile, but it all looks a little strained, given the situation.]
