The bus ride had been a very interesting one. She still wasn't sure what was going on, but she noticed that she wasn't the only one with a Vault suit and Pip Boy on. Though the other woman's was a different model than her own.

The conversation had started off simply. "Vault 111? I'm from 101." And it went on from there. They discussed the differences in the vaults and the lands around the vaults. They had a lot more in common than she realized at first.

When the bus stopped, the two former vault dwellers climbed off and looked around. The Lone Wanderer was stunned. She had never seen so much green before. Not even Oasis had this much green. At least she didn't have to deal with the Treeminders.

"So...is this what the world looked like before the bombs dropped?" she asked the older woman, still staring at everything. Unlike Nora, she hadn't been born before the war. She had only known life in a vault before she was pretty much evicted and forced into the Capital Wasteland.

"You've ridden pre-war vehicles? Fancy."

He's assuming she got one to work and that's what she's talking about. After all, she's not a ghoul.

She laughs for a moment.

"You know Vault-Tec, right?" Who didn't. "I'm from one of those fucked up experiments. I lived before the bombs."

[feralnow]

"Seriously? I mean, I've met people who went in them and I heard they did some fucked up shit." MacCready claims he knew someone from one of the less fucked up Vaults, and used to live near a Vault himself. Plus, he's known people who scavenge in Vaults.

"Lemme guess? Cryo freezing or longevity experiments?"

"Got it in one. Cryogenics." She crossed her arms behind her head. "You heard of Sanctuary Hills up near Concord? Vault 111 was behind it, and I was one of the lab rats."

[feralnow]

"Yeah, I've heard of it. Never been there, myself, since it's a bit out of the way of Goodneighbor." The guy on the radio said that the Minutemen were trying to go there. "So you actually saw the world before the bombs dropped?"

[warneverchanged]

"Yeah. It was much nicer, greener, and a lot less murderous than the Commonwealth is now. Most of us liked one another." She paused for a moment, thinking about the 'Green Ol Days'. "Kind of like this is."

Hancock looked around at all the green, then back at the woman. "Would you believe I'm one of the few ghouls who wasn't alive back then? So I've never actually seen the old world."
