001 - audio - spider in the roses
[ You heard it here first, folks. If you're listening, there's a rather angry sounding banshee woman who's had about enough of this place, and would've liked to go home hours ago. But here she is, with a bit of a sniffle behind her thick accent. ]
Well, this is just grand. If there's anyone in this wretched place that'd like to talk about bartering some lab equipment, I'd be in your service.
And, I'd also offer services to someone who can get this hay out of my backyard. It simply cannot stay, no matter what.
[ There's a sneeze somewhere in the background. ]
Services rendered depends on what you'd need. I specialize in medicine, but it's not likely what you're thinking.
Good day.
[ Another sneeze. There's probably a red faced, living in a tissue Moira behind that audio somewhere. God someone please come get rid of it for her. She can't go near it. Some things genetic editing can't seem to fix. ]

[ Listen, kid... ]
I have allergies. Something I didn't anticipate.

Ah, but you are a doctor, correct? Do doctors normally not have medicine around? Our ship is always stocked! [[ tempting fate all the time, this one. ]] Please be sure to restock your medicine soon, Miss.
no subject
No, they do not. They have access to them through other means, they know how they work. And, I am not that specific kind of doctor.
[ Now that she's taken into account it could be a child, the banter is much more innocent. ]
Thank you. It's on my to-do list.
no subject
Oh, I see! I apologize for my assumptions, then! [[ so polite. ]] You mentioned something about hay that needs to be removed... I could try and move it for you, to make up for my impolite behavior.
[[ her voice is a pretty accurate depiction of her size, which makes the offer somewhat laughable. she's a hard worker, though! ]]
no subject
Not to worry.
[ Another sneeze off mic. ]
Now now. I've already secured some help, thank you. Perhaps next time, simply don't assume. Or, you can tell me more about your 'ship'?
[ Welp here she goes, off to be nosy in other people's biz. ]

Ah! I have not introduced myself: I am Nia! And I would be happy to tell you about the Dai-Gurren!
[[ although... ]] Or: what was the Dai-Gurren! Most of it was destroyed, actually. It was a very large, walking ship that we traveled in to see my father. It also had a medical facility, which is why I, ah, mentioned the medicine.
I apologize again: it wasn't very long ago that it was destroyed. I am still used to thinking about it in the present. [[ read: the player completely forgot they play nia from after the ship was destroyed. oops. it's been awhile. ]]
no subject
[ A walking ship. Still not the strangest thing she's heard today but she'll take it for now. ]
Not at all. It's terrible having to adjust, hm?
[ Back to her to do list, but, she'll entertain conversation for a bit longer. Nia seems interested, and she might learn something else from such an open book.
And lol no worries.]A pleasure, Miss Nia. My name is Moira.

[[ she's quiet for a moment, before: ]] It is difficult, yes. But, everything is for the better now! So it is alright.
We are making a city now for all humans to live in. It will be better than any ship! [[ wait a hot minute. ]] What kind of world do you come from, Miss Moira?
no subject
I see. I assume you're from some desolate wasteland now, am I correct?
A world likely very different from yours. Where man and machine live together, in peace though, that has yet to be seen for quite some time, and some time yet.
Certainly no walking ships, though.
no subject
Oh... I see. So, it is not peaceful where you are from? [[ her voice sounds very :^( ]] I do hope that your world can change for the better, Miss Moira.
no subject
Not always. [ Her well wishes are quite touching. Her heart almost melts. ]
Oh, they have. And so they shall continue to.
What about you, Nia? What is your world like?
no subject
It was, hmm... Not very peaceful, until very recently. There was a lot of fighting, and many people were hurt. [[ a long pause, like she's recalling a memory. ]] I believe everyone lost someone important to them, at least one person.
But, we are moving towards a better future now! That is what matters, as I am sure you know, Miss Moira.
no subject
It is. It seems you have a very optimistic outlook, dear. That's good. That's important moving forward.
[ She'll tell you that rn. ]
