[log] mithos & chara
Who: Chara and Mithos
What: New friends, or new rivals? We'll see.
When: Evening in the forest.
Other information: Chara being Chara.
[ Chara is sitting on the gnarled wood of a tree that seems to curl its way upward into the sky, easily climbable by any small thing with determination. Twirling a knife in their hand, a small distance away is one of the monsters that was advertised on the bounty post-- the Jellienormous. It's been squirreling away other animals because it's lonely, because it needs friends. What a pathetic little being, but even they can see how that's being a pest to a Harvest Goddess. Those animals aren't meant to be hoarded and left to an empty forest.
Chara wants to kill it. But that's nothing new, Chara is pretty ready to kill a lot of things when it comes to it.
But something is stopping them. ]
Who's there?
[ It better not be Juzo-- one of them, anyway-- coming to tell them to stop or whatever. There's a bounty with no reason to pick one method over the other. Friendship their ass. Chara never misses a blow. ]

angelhalf-elf. Mithos is also here due to the bounty as well, but while his sheathed sword is at his side, he plans to use the method suggested on the post.He can understand being lonely, after all.
The sound of someone else's voice makes his fingers twitch, but he doesn't reach for his sword. He looks in the direction of the voice, towards the tree.]
...no one who means any harm to you. [There's no image of loyalty to Cruxis to uphold, no reason to betray anyone here. He has zero plans of causing trouble.]

[ Chara leaps down, as their feet hit the grass they size up the other teen in front of them. Just about their age... angelic looking, almost, but plenty of people are and act that way and turn out the exact opposite, right? They know not to hold their breath. Chara wants to cause trouble, but causing it for no reason is demented; it must happen first, and then they can chase it like a breeze. ]
Following the bounty? Anyone out here must be... it's far from town, and the monsters aren't safe to be around.
[ Talking as if they aren't basically children themselves. ]

Yes, I am. [Chara's words are enough for him to assume they are as well.] As for the monsters, I have more than enough experience with them -- I can take care of myself. It must be the same for you, if you're out here too.

Ah, ah, but this monster can only be defeated with... what was it? Friendship? Perhaps it's unkillable by human means. Perhaps the very act is cruel.
[ They cross their arms. ] What would that mean, though...? A demonstration of friendship, or befriending the beast?
[ At once, they extend their hand. ]
I'm Chara.

[Chara's words make him stop and think, though.]
...a demonstration of friendship, huh? I hadn't considered that. I guess it could be either one or the other. Maybe both...
[Cautiously, he takes Chara's hand and shakes it lightly.]
Mithos.

Maybe if we ask it to join us in a game, it'll think we're playing...?
no subject
I think that may work. If nothing else, it's worth a shot.

[ Hmm... what's step one? ]
Your favorite thing in the whole wide world. Mine is chocolate.

He sighs. He needs to at least try, for this to work. He hesitates for a moment longer before giving his answer.]
...listening to my sister play the panpipes.
