[After seeing that notice about monsters, and ensuring her farm is secured for the moment along with all her produce, Grainne puts on some old clothes and sets off on an adventure.

This is just like old times, fighting skeletons on Quadratus! Exploring the blue ocean beaches of Pacifica. Was it Pacifica? It was that planet they had been kidnapped on anyway. Or was that another one?

Armed with only her knife, wits, a bag of food, and a great singing voice she marches out to see what might be done about those monsters.

The note said the Harvest Goddess had signed it, and she gave hints on how the monsters might be defeated...

Well, Grainne will see if her hunch is right.

So have one Servant(?) faffing about the mountains, looking for monsters to defeat with the powers of Friendship, Kindness, and Song. Plus about a dozen Monster Treats(TM).

This may get grim, Grainne is particularly rusty at Friendship.]

My! I'm sorry to have frightened you... I am Rose Quartz, of the Crystal Gems. It just seemed like those poor creatures were in need of dire assistance, rather than someone running off to slay them. I wanted to see if I could protect them too.

[Well of course Rose Quartz is from the Crystal Gems. Naturally occurring in igneous rock. Grainne jumps down from the branch lightly on her feet.]

Grainne. [No titles or patronym.] Have you seen any tracks? [A beat.] Or heard any badly tuned music?

[rosed]

I live closer to the mountains, so sometimes I hear a... a faint...

Screaming?

[ She shrugs. ] It's definitely not humanoid, so I wasn't too worried...

[impossibilities]

Mayhap that is a trail of one. T'would be prudent investigating the source of that sound. [If it is the one that requires song, Grainne wasn't bad at it.] It would be easy hunting a monster that made so much noise.

[rosed]

Hunting? Surely we're taming it or solving it's problem, right?

[ She just wants to make sure the two are on the same page as they walk. ]

That is what I am worried about. The poor mischief maker might attract a bad attention to it, going about so in the forest. [Grainne walks upright, hands behind her back, a little curious at Rose's question.] Creatures of the woods do not tend to make a racket unless they are fleeing, or mating.

[rosed]

Are you sure? Maybe it's just... out of tune?

[ Rose imagines it's more of a problem for her neighbors, who need to sleep. ]

I think the Harvest Goddess wouldn't put it up unless it was really a problem.

[impossibilities]

There must be something wrong if it is making noise, I suppose that is my point. [Grainne smiles brightly.] Do not fret. It will be soothed. Do you know how to sing?

[rosed]

I do. Do you...? Maybe we can teach it how to calm down! Or sing just a bit better. But I think even if it can't be fixed, it still must be a lovely creature worth protecting.

[impossibilities]

Of course. I can whistle a little, too. [Grainne smiles a little, a hint of sadness underneath the smile.] Perhaps it is just misunderstood.

[rosed]

Then we have to go save it, before something more violent comes to take it out!

[ Rose sounds absolutely determined! More determined than one should when talking about going toe to toe with a giant bird. She starts down the path in the secret woods, heading towards the mountains. ]

By the way... when did you get here?

[There is something odd but likable about this young woman, Grainne decides.]

Ah? I do not know. A few hours, I think. I have been wandering quite a bit looking for signs of these monsters.
