mingle - raining cats and dogs (?)

It was a regular day for farming and living and whatever people wanna do - clouds had built over the last few days, but other then a slight bit of rain, things were normal.

Until now.

It began with rain. Just regular rain. Until the rain seemed to shudder and become soft ice. It looked like a mix of rain and snow - and glimmered like diamonds. It wasn't cold, it was just... beautiful. What a strange event...

That is, until a few hours passed. The diamond dust falling from the sky wasn't too weird. Even if it was nearing the end of Summer, it was quite nice. What began next, though? It was even weirder.

Diamonds and other gems had begun to fall from the sky, though they seemed to impact people just like rain. Not painful at all. They were real, at that! Whatever was causing this, it was... well, weird. It wasn't just the people and the outsiders curious about this - Pokemon from the forests and beyond seemed to be coming out into the town. Oddly, they were mostly Zubat and Bidoof... but there's a lot of other Pokemon, curious about the gems! Some of them are even eating them. Please stop.

...though, people not distracted by the Pokemon might notice small apple-like rat creatures. Some of them even seem to be falling from the sky with some squeaking.

The next day, things will be back to normal - any items not picked up will vanish, just as they appeared.

((OOC: A reminder to do your opt-outs if you haven't yet! Final reminder, I swear!))

With the tea and sweets being served, Abel thanked her and helped himself. The sweets really brought out the tea.

"This is really good, Ms. Sheena. Did you grow some of the fruits to put into the sweets? And my hair is still sparkling? Well, I'll pay no mind. I don't mind if my hair sparkles a little." Still, a bit embarrassed, he brushed off the crystals anyway out of his silver hair.

With a nod, "It seems you know a lot being a ninja." Hearing her experience, she's more experienced and accustomed to surviving out in the wild, which makes her admire her more.

"So I guess farm life is easy for you? It wasn't easy for me. I think I'm more accustomed to just buying the crops from the other farmers and cooking them, rather than growing them." He said, now admitting that perhaps farming may not cut out for him. But still, he does enjoy living the country life and making the most out of it.

Sheena smiled and shook her head.

"Thank you, but you don't need to be formal with me. 'Sheena' is just fine. And yes, a couple of the fruits I grew--others I had to buy. Uh--hold on a sec," she finished with a chuckle as she stood and got something for him to put the crystals in. "There you go. Now you can carry them." Although, she kind of liked the sparkly look.

Taking her seat, she nodded while sipping her tea. "I grew up in a hidden village, so there were a lot of things we had to do and learn." She paused in thought. "Though, I wouldn't say farming is actually 'easy' for me; more like I can adapt to it." Placing her cup on her saucer, she looks at him in concern.

"Abel, if you're having trouble, I'd be glad to help."

"That can't be helped. I'm always formal with my colleagues and my friends back home. Back home, being a priest, I'm almost equal to that of a professor. Though nowadays, I don't have much energy to teach. That's why I come here to this valley to try the country life." Still with a nervous smile, "Sheena it is."

The crystals from his hair were gathered in the bowl. "Thanks..." And he also has that sparkly look with glitter on his hair.

He nodded when she spoke about her village. "I lived in the city, so I have to learn everything from the ground up." With them sipping their tea together, it's another quiet afternoon.

"It's not much trouble really. I just work all by myself in the field doing gardening, and growing fruits and vegetables too and harvesting, while Alec sticks to his studies or just having adventures and exploring around the valley. I studied a lot on how to grow things around. It's the actually doing part...especially when I'm out in the sun all day and getting my hands dirty. So, please don't trouble yourself by helping me...unless you really wanted to!" Abel is trying to be modest and humble.

Sheena smiled."Except for the King and the Pope, I'm pretty informal with people--especially my friends," Sheena admitted. Her instant use of "Abel" was proof of that. Upon realizing this, her eyes widened slightly with concern. "It hasn't bothered you that I've called you 'Abel' and not 'Father' has it? I mean no insult." She was just very friendly.

She took a moment to sip her tea and cover her concern, though she couldn't stop a smile from forming at the pun--intentional or not. She enjoyed the friendly quiet for several more moments before speaking again.

"It sounds like you might be doing too much by yourself." Yeah, she was one to talk. "And I mean size-wise," she explained. "How much land did you till for planting?" Because too much can mean a lot of unneeded work. Especially if it's just the two of them. Shaking her head, she continued. "And I don't mind helping you! After all, you're my friend."

At her mistake, all she gets is a bright smile from him since he did want to be casual about it. He likes the idea of them being friends and friendships is always a welcoming, good step.

"No, it didn't bother me at all. People call me Father when I'm doing clerical duties or giving a sermon. I did say you can call me Abel when I'm not working." He said, assuring her that it's not insulting at all, and it's fine being friendly as Abel truly desire to have her over for company.

He has no idea how many acres, but he is as big as the eyes could see. "Oh I have big ideas on this big land, so it's not too much I think. I know I'm tackling a big project, but it's something I wanted to work on for ages. I'm confident that I shall be doing fine...though perhaps I don't mind your assistance if I call for it every now and then...that is to say, if you don't mind lending me a hand if I ask for it."

He didn't want her to worry about it because he isn't overwhelmed at all. Maybe he has bitten off more than he can chew, but he has an idea and a vision, and he trusts his own intuition and see the future of its success as clearly as he can see in his own mind.

"I plan to grow a lot. Orchards, fruits, vegetables, flowers...I wanted to grow everything! It's a dream of mine for a long time before I moved here and nowit comes to this, so no, I don't think it's that big and the size of my land is perfect." He said and sipped his tea, as he can see his dream garden in his mind.

"Good," she sighed in relief. "I'll try to remember to call you 'Father' when you're working." If she lapses, it'll show just how comfortable she is with him and how much she considers him a friend.

And worrying about him is a part of that friendship. She'd hate to see him wear himself out by doing too much. "I don't mind helping you at all, Abel," she told him. If she did, she never would have made the offer. Especially now that he had told her what he planned on doing.

In Sheena's opinion, intuition is a good thing because you're following your heart. However, as one who did that on a constant basis, she knew that it could lead to trouble--and that was something she didn't want Abel to have.

"Sounds like you'll have your hands full," she chuckled. Once grown, those plants will probably keep sprouting new blooms every year, but the harvesting... She was definitely going to say "yes" if he asked for her help.

Or even if he didn't.

Sipping her tea, she saw the look on his face and gave him a gentle smile. "So, what are you planning on planting? I'm guessing roses for one."
