1st Lance | Yet Another World Yet Another Day
[Action:
When people tell stories about heroes and their adventures, they usually talk about the glory and the fame and the hero getting the girl or boy or what have you. What they don't go into, usually, is the aftermath for heroes mentally, And for heroes themselves, people just seem to assume they're fine, whether they are or not - you don't just ask the big hero "ok but how are you doing now? Do you need to talk about it?", apparently. And they certainly never ask if you need a vacation.
But that's exactly what Nephenee had wanted, the night before. They'd been in Eorzea for a year or so, and so much had gone on...you maybe had a week or so of quiet before the damn place started exploding again, and with having to defeat someone she'd really hoped would have a second chance and watch the aftermath of everything...even if Doma seemed fine now, they'd found more things to worry about. And even with her friends to support her, the one that was her rock was back in Rhydin, and she hadn't been back there except in dreams. Whether they were more than that or not, she wasn't sure, but she was sure that she needed a vacation. No saving people, no felling so-called gods...just relaxing for a bit.
She hadn't thought she'd actually get one. But as the Dragoon woke to the rumbling of the bus' engine, the squeal of its brakes...she'd found herself in one. Confused and somewhat lost, she'd listened to the explanation of things, silently sighing to herself. Another world-hop...she found she had her powers back, except for the world-jumping one, and wasn't entirely surprised about that. But...as much as part of her was yelling internally about "not another one" and "where is everyone else??", she...found herself not entirely opposed to this. Maybe Hydaelyn saw she needed the break? However she'd gotten here, it seemed she wasn't getting back anywhere just yet. Might as well get comfortable.
For now, though, she's wandering around, taking in everything and seeing who she meets. Though she seems to stick out in her garb and weapon...]

[Video:
When she finally gets settled into her new place, Nephenee decides that she should probably say hi and...well, all the things she's done every world she's been in (well, almost every world). So the video opens up to a tall young woman with bright emerald hair and a long polearm on her back waving at the device.]
Hey, y'all. Jus' got off the bus from Eorzea. My name's Nephenee Knight. Gotta say...kind of glad that there's lots o'farmin' here, it seems. Ah've been fightin' too much, lately.
[That's a super country voice. But it sounds nice, like warm apple pie.]
So...few questions: One, we got any folks from Tellius, Equestria, or Eorzea here? Any version o'em. Or...Rhydin, too. Lookin' for my husband an' our daughter...
Two, anyone need help with learnin' farmin'? Ah've been doin' it my whole life, so Ah'd like to help folks out. Ah also have some healin' magic, an' can lift a buncha stuff, if folks ever need help.
Three, do we know what brought us in? Ah mean...to the world. The bus seems to have brought us here...
It's nice to meet y'all, though!

It's nice to meet y'all, though!
video;
I am from Eorzea - but likely another shard then yours, ma'am.
video;
[She doubts it, but she can hope.]
video;
video;
...Lemme guess, primals showin' up, gotta put 'em down. Ascians to the left, Ascians to the right. End a war in a snowy country with dragons, liberate some countries...
Oh, an' there's a big lady crystal givin' ya power.
Or is it crazier than that?
[She's smiling despite everything she just said.]
video;
Time itself broke, due to poor Urianger trying to send us too far back - and many of us were altered due to some form of corruption. Then again, it was Elidibus who told him to do it... using forbidden magic and all, I mean.
Then everything faded away, due to a world devouring dragon which Elidibus was trying to stop all along. And, um, Hydaelyn created me when Minfilia could not be sent back.
[ A beat. ]
...And we've not liberated any countries, before everything ended. Um, the Scions of the Seventh Dawn and me, I mean. Though we did manage to make sure everybody we could was safe, as we seeked our new home. Which this isn't...
- Action -
He gently strokes the proud snout of one of the large animals that has come to the fence to be fed. The Elezen doesn't have anything but pets which the animal is begrudgingly accepting of. Maybe there will be treats later?
It's going well until the horse catches sight of a gleaming and sharp weapon on the back of the dragoon. It then lets out a upset whinny and races off from the fence leaving Haurchefant mildly dazed at the sudden interaction. He brushes himself off a bit with a sigh. Well... these are a far cry from any battle ready stead but hopefully such a thing won't be necessary in a place like this.
He glances at the warrior that has caused such an upset but with no ill will or anything like that. Just a friendly smile. He's also hard pressed to leave his weapon behind even in so peaceful a setting.]
I do hope those fine creatures are better farm hands than knightly steads.
- Action -
For her part, the Sentinel stares at him for a few moments in shock.]
H-Haurchefant? You're...alive?
[It's a WoL, oops.]
no subject
Alive... [He gives the slightest shake of the head.] No... I think not. But I am here. Whatever state of existence has allowed me to be here that is what I am. But... I would not wish for your heart to become too overwhelmed with a false conclusion. I am not in Eorzea nor do I believe myself able to return... For that I am truly sorry.
video;
I'm glad it's peaceful here, too.
video;
She keeps herself from tilting her head too much, but her big sister senses are tingling.]
Ah've been fightin' stuff for 'bout a year now...'nuff tretchery an' stuff to rival the two wars Ah was in on my original world.
Ah'll take the break.
Your world not too peaceful, Ah take it?
no subject
I guess this is supposed to be like... a vacation or something, for the people brought here.
action;
Because, after all, her body was also adapting - as she spent time here, Fordola had stopped multilating herself to hit into Garlemald. However, any armour from Eorzea tended to make her... well... wary. And so, her focus was fully on the lady and her garb. Now-golden eyes widening. ]
Who're--
Action
Just arrived, huh?
[Video]
Hey Neph, looks like you wanted a break too.
[Video]
Yua! Gosh, you're a sight for sore eyes. How long ya been here? Ah jus' saw ya in Eorzea...not that that means much with world hoppin'.
[Wibbly-Wobbly-Timey-Wimey, the Doctor called it.]
[Video]
[Shrug.]
So placing bets: someone is going to make a sheep become a guard dog. It wouldn't surprise me considering all the weird shit we've seen.
[Video]
[Occasionally, Neph's intelligence does actually come out. But she can't help but laugh at that idea.]
That's silly! Sheep make awful guard doggies! They're not smart 'nuff. Maybe an alarm dog, but even then Ah'd not trust 'em to not be freakin' out 'bout somethin' else.
[Video]
[You know, the same woman who hears that kind of talk and a thought bubble of 'Challenge Accepted' comes up.]
video
[How many Nephenee Knights from Equestria could there be? She's hopeful.]
video
[ANOTHER SOMEONE SHE KNOWS PRAISE CELESTIA.]
Did ya jus' get here too?
video
How's your farm coming?
video
But yeah, Ah wanna see ya too. Been a year away from everyone an' everythin'...need to see my country sis from a different miss!
Action
Hello? Hello! Sorry to disturb but...are you perhaps a Dragoon?
Action
Sure am! Been usin' a lance longer than some folks been alive, so Ah couldn't resist. Ah see you're one too?
[LANCE SIS? She looks terribly excited at the prospect.]

I am indeed! [She holds out her hand.] Wellmet! My name is Q'uila Sunrise, it is always wonderful to meet another dragoon, especially in these parts.
Video;
No doubt you've gotten other responses by now, but well met! I hail from Eorzea as well; recently arrived, in fact. I'm relieved that I am not the only one.
Is farming is not the same as tending to a garden? I don't have experience with larger fields, but I've tried my hand with growing krakka roots.
Video;
There seems to be quite a few o'us, don't it? Even if a couple o'us ain't originally from there, it's nice to see folks goin' through the same baloney.
[That's one way to sum up The Story Thus Far.
She taps her chin at the part about gardens and farming, though...how to...summarize.]
It's...the base idea is the same, but execution is a whole lot different. Ah mean, sure, on both ya gotta worry 'bout soil an' water an' weeds, but farmin'...jus' for crops you're tillin' large sections an' makin' sure it's the right time for 'em, an' [Insert a few more fairly big differences here]...
It's...similar, but different 'nuff, an' if it doesn't work, it's a lot bigger a deal 'cause that's food that ain't on the table an' money ya can't use.
[She explains it as patiently as she can, since she knows a lot of people don't know farming...but it's clear she's passionate about the subject.]

What manner of things do you think would be hardy enough for me to try my hand at? I was thinking of perhaps fruit, but it seems we're most of the way through the warmer months... And I wouldn't want to lose my harvest to late Autumn storms.
