[Aurora is fiddling with the strange new technology, although the more observant may notice a bunny paw just on the side of the camera.]

I- yes, I do believe we've finally figured out how to do this.

[The animals around her all give cries of excitement. She laughs and then returns to regard the video.]

Hello, I am Princess Aurora, daughter of King Stefan and Queen Leah. [She offered quite the graceful curtsey to her invisible audience. Her owl and the other animals around her offer bows as well. That little trick might be more impressive than anything else she has to say.] But please just call me Aurora. [She'd say Rose but then she has to explain the WHY.]

Growing up, I had to learn herbal remedies, salves, and various other natural medicines to help with illnesses and pains, which is what I shall be dedicating my farm towards. If you are in need of anything for something as minor as stomach trouble or a headache to a more serious cold, then I will be happy to try and assist in any way I can.

[The owl gives a soft "hoo!" as if to remind Aurora that she has to make a living, this cannot be done for free.] Oh yes, thank you for reminding me. We shall work out a fair price upon your arrival.

[The store seemed to be a place that everyone knew about, so it was easy to find.]

[With that, the call ended, and Bridge went off to get ready.

Unfortunately, what he planned took a bit longer than he expect, which had him arriving to the general store a bit later than he'd wanted.

As he hurried to get there, he glanced around, hoping he wasn't too late in meeting her.]

[Aurora was indeed waiting, but she was stroking the breast of her owl and speaking with him and the other animals lightly while waiting, so honestly, she did not mind all that much. Besides, forest time didn't really run off of clocks. Aurora had no sundials only the sun. So she was not bound to keep it the same way more modern people might be.]

Hello, Bridge. [She offered with a smile as she moved her owl to her shoulder and he was forever careful of his talons on her skin.]

[Going over to meet her, there was a touch of embarrassment as he returned the smile.]

Hey. Sorry I’m late. It took longer to get stuff ready than I thought.

[As he spoke, he removed the backpack he wore, switching to his front in order to access the pockets easier.]

Get stuff ready? Just what do you have planned, Bridge?

[He chuckled.]

Honestly, not as much as you might be thinking. But I figured since it was your birthday, you still ought to get another present.

[Carefully he pulls out a clear plastic cookie bag, filled with flower-shaped cookies and tied with a white ribbon. Giving it a quick check to make sure none of them were broken, he offered them to her.]

Like I said, it's not much, but happy birthday.

[She took the bag carefully and looked at it for a while, it was her first gift from someone outside of her aunt or animals. She lightly thumbed the plastic and a small smile came on her face.]

Thank you... it... it doesn't have to be much to mean much. Thank you, Bridge, truly. [She moved then to hug him.]

[A bit surprised, he accepted the hug easily enough, a small smile of his own on his face.]

No problem. Everyone deserves something nice for their birthday.

Well, thank you. I really appreciate this. But now I insist you tell me your birthday.

[He chuckled, though a bit sheepishly.]

Well it's...not anytime soon, so it doesn't really matter.

I won't forget it, I promise, Bridge. I've never had a chance to remember a friend's birthday before, and fairies don't have them, but I most certainly won't forget.

[He seemed about to say something, but stopped himself. Then he smiled.]

But now, you have to tell me the exact date of yours.

[Because he’s not sure how many days have passed since her birthday.]

March 20th. [The fact that her birthday was the spring equinox and the start of spring as a whole was never lost on her aunts.]

March 20th...all right. I'll definitely keep that in mind. [Although, a little help wouldn't hurt.] Actually...

[Pulling out his jPad, he pulls up the calendar app to input her birthday in March.]

Oh, so you are quite used to using those strange contraptions?

[He nods as he slips it back into his pocket.]

Yeah. We've got something similar back where I come from.

["Similar" in that they're exactly the same.]

This sort of technology is well beyond me, I'm afraid. The most advanced thing I ever worked with before coming here was our water wheel.
