dude you're fine!! don't apologize

[The message came in a little too fast for Percy's comfort--he remembers with a cold shiver what it's like to feel like you have to apologize for everything, and with what's probably an equal amount of thought (or lack thereof), he turns instinctively to consolation.]

i worked at a cafe and book shop for almost two years, thats the only reason i know any of this stuff.

the basics are yeah, it's from the coffee bean and it's delicious, you're definitely right about that. you harvest the beans, clean them and roast them and then from there grind them up and use some kind of hot water to brew. Or cold, actually, but it takes like 18 hours, so i'm always too impatient

the difference between drip coffee and espresso is that drip coffee is made in a machine. the water's heated up and pushed through a little basket with a filter in it, and the filter's filled with coffee grounds. it "drips" into the coffee pot (which is why it's called drip coffee). that's usually what you get when you ask for "coffee" at like a diner or something?

espresso is a different kind of machine. it's stronger than drip coffee because it's more concentrated, you use it to make lattes and stuff. if you order a plain espresso you do it by shots, it comes in a tiny cup.

does that make any sense? If I find a machine or a pic of one I'll show you.
